2020 Hyundai Tucson review

Among major carmakers in the world, this one has a reputation of one of those companies that offer plenty of value for the money. The Tucson is pretty much a perfect represent of such business approach. The popular compact crossover has been one of the best-selling models from the Korean manufacturer for years. The current generation is on the market for more than three years. Interestingly, we have already seen a major update. We have seen a classic facelift, which included lots of interesting changes. Therefore, the 2020 Hyundai Tucson should carry on pretty much unchanged. We count on a familiar layout, styling, and engines in the offer. Considering that there are no bigger changes planned, we expect its arrival late in the next year.

2020 Hyundai Tucson Changes

The Tucson is a typical compact crossover. Common dimensions and modern shape are some of the main characteristics of this model. The current generation is on the market for about three years. However, we have already seen a facelift. The updated version comes with lots of visual updates. Of course, the front end is on focus. There are some novelties in on grille, as well as on the front bumper, which comes with a slight reshaping and a new design of fog lights.

Interestingly, the rear end also received a fine number of changes. There is a new rear bumper, but you can see some revisions on the tailgate as well. Many will also notice that lighting groups are differently positioned. Considering such massive changes, we are pretty sure that 2020 Hyundai Tucson won’t feature any important change. We could possibly see new color options in the offer, but anything more than that would be a surprise.

2020 Hyundai Tucson Interior

The recent facelift affected interior design as well. Of course, changes were made on the dashboard. You can easily notice a new, tablet-like touchscreen that replaces the old integrated one. Along with the new screen, new air vents came as well. It doesn’t sound like too many changes, but the new dash looks significantly better, almost leaving an impression of a completely new design. Rest of the cabin continued in the same manner and we are pretty sure that bigger changes won’t come until a complete redesign. The Tucson features a well-designed cabin, though materials choice explains why this SUV is more affordable compared to most competitors. This especially refers to base models, which are full of low-grade materials. On the other side, there is plenty of legroom for adult passengers at rear seats, while the cargo area is typical for the class.

2020 Hyundai Tucson Features

One of the possible changes for the next year could be the addition of new standard features. Still, don’t expect miracles. Each trim will probably get a couple of novelties, while the current organization of equipment groups should remain.

When it comes to tech goodies, base models are equipped fairly well. Every Tucson model comes with a touchscreen interface, Bluetooth, USB ports etc. In higher trims, you can also get things like smartphone integration, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, premium audio system etc. Base 2020 Hyundai Tucson will continue with cloth seats, while leather upholstery will be available in more expensive models.

When it comes to safety, the recent facelift has brought some improvements. Before the update, a rearview camera was the only standard safety feature. With the new model, Collision avoidance and lane keeping assist became standard as well. We hope that the 2020 Hyundai Tucson will continue the same trend and add few more of this advanced systems. The list of candidates is long, considering that there is a long list of optional features, such as rear cross traffic alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection etc.

2020 Hyundai Tucson Engines

This aspect of the car shouldn’t bring more important changes. The recent update has dropped an optional turbo inline-four engine, so there are only two atmospheric units in the offer now.

Base models are equipped with a 2.0-liter unit that delivers 164 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque.

The optional 2.4-liter engine delivers around 181 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. Both engines deliver similar performances, which are great for the everyday ride, but definitely not enough good if you want a dose of sportiness in your ride.

When it comes to fuel economy, it is pretty much average for the class. With the base engine, you can count on 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

2020 Hyundai Tucson Release Date and Price

This popular crossover received a facelift recently. Therefore, the 2020 Hyundai Tucson probably won’t feature bigger changes, which also means it shouldn’t arrive before the last quarter of next year. In terms of price, the new model will surely remain an affordable alternative to class-leaders like Honda CR-V and Toyota Rav4. Base models will be available at around 22.500 dollars.
