Without any doubt, the X3 is one of the best choices if you’re looking for a compact luxury crossover. Powerful engines, sporty handling, and great overall driving experiences are just some of the good things about this model. We used to excellent performances from this carmaker, but this particular crossover is also very practical. Spacious and comfortable cabin and above-average cargo space are some of the strongest points. The current generation is on the market since last year and you have a good reason to wait for another year and get 2020 BMW X3. Allegedly, this model will get a new powertrain, a plug-in hybrid system. Other than novelties under the hood, we probably won’t see bigger modifications compared to the current model. The upcoming model will represent the third production year and we believe it is still early for a facelift or something like that.

2020 BMW X3 Plug-In Hybrid
The biggest novelty for the next year should be a new hybrid powertrain. It looks like the 2020 BMW X3 is about to adopt the company’s new system that already found its place under the hood of the current 3 Series model. It is a classic plug-in hybrid system, which combines a gasoline engine with an electric motor, for a max output of 275 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Such amount should be enough to provide exciting performances but count on the interesting XtraBoost feature, which can provide a little bit more power when needed. Besides lots of power, the new powertrain will be characterized by an all-electric range of around 50 miles. Count on a wireless charging option as well.
Besides the new hybrid powertrain, an all-electric model is highly anticipated too. This model should arrive in a year or two, as BMW iX3. At this point, we don’t have detailed specs, except rumors that a max range should go around 400 miles.

2020 BMW X3 Engines
Rest of the powertrain lineup should remain unchanged. The 2020 BMW X3 will continue with two familiar gasoline units in North America. Base models will feature a familiar 2.0-liter turbo inline-four, which is good for about 250 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Definitely enough power for good performances. For amazing performances, there is an optional “M” badged version, which hides a 3.0-liter inline-six under the hood, which features a max output of around 335 horses and 370 pound-feet of torque. When it comes to the fuel economy, you can count on 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway with the base engine.
In other parts of the world, the 2020 BMW X3 will be available in diesel versions as well. There are two familiar oil-burners in the offer. The base turbo-four is good for about 190 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. An optional inline-six has a max output of around 260 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
All engines will be paired with 8-speed automatic transmission.

2020 BMW X3 Styling and Interior Design
In terms of the styling, we don’t expect bigger surprises. The 2020 BMW X3 will continue with a familiar look, which continues to evolve through all these years. The famous kidney grille became bigger and more angular, while the overall shape remains quite similar to the previous generation.
On the inside, you can count on an attractive cabin layout. It is rather minimalistic, just it is the case with other BMW models. The overall impression is that many rivals offer more upscale interior look. On the other side, the cabin is very comfortable. Seats are massive and supportive, while the rear bench offers plenty of legroom. Also, the X3 offers a generous cargo volume. You can count on 29 cubic feet behind rear seats and 63 cubic feet of overall cargo space.

2020 BMW X3 Features
Among possible novelties for the 2020 BMW X3, new standard features seem quite likely. We are pretty sure that each version will come with a couple of novelties. Still, keep in mind that the current model is already equipped very well. Even the most basic versions are equipped with things like 6.5-inch touchscreen, 12-speaker audio, USB ports, Bluetooth etc. There are also plenty of available features, including navigation, satellite radio, wireless charging, premium audio system, Wi-Fi hotspot etc. One of the things that the current model doesn’t have is Android Auto, so we can hope the 2020 BMW X3 could get it.
In terms of safety features, all models feature with systems like

2020 BMW X3 Release Date and Price
The 2020 BMW X3 should arrive late in the next year. We don’t expect bigger changes in price, so base models should go around 41.000 dollars.
