The current model year of Subaru’s entry-level crossover is in the fifth production year and those who are familiar with Subaru’s policy know very well what to expect from the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek. As you may know, Subaru practices five-year production cycles, which means that the next year will bring a complete redesign. We expect to see a lot of new things, which should make this small crossover even more competitive.
At this point, the officials are still quiet about details but we may presume that the upcoming redesign will bring a lot o interesting upgrades. Of course, we will see a new platform, as well as a new exterior design. The cabin will be new as well, but we are pretty sure that the Japanese manufacturer will bring evolutionary changes only. When it comes to the powertrain, we presume that the new 2023 Subaru Crosstrek will come with a new, more efficient hybrid system, along with the familiar gasoline engine. The new generation should debut in the second half of the year.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Redesign
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek is about to receive a full redesign. The first thing that comes to mind is the platform and we have no doubt that the new model will ride on the company’s new modular platform, which will bring improvements regarding ride quality, as well as new technologies and design solutions.
When it comes to styling, it’s still early to talk about details. Still, we presume that the upcoming redesign will bring evolutionary changes only. The overall shape should remain largely the same, though we won’t exclude the possibility to see slightly longer wheelbase and bigger overall dimensions. Practically, the biggest differences will happen at the front and rear ends of the vehicle, where we expect Subaru to implement its latest design language.

Interior
Of course, the interior is about to come all-new as well. If you look at the current model, it looks pretty decent when compared to rivals. The dashboard looks nice, while the materials are fine as well. Furthermore, there is a fair amount of standard and optional tech and safety features. So, the new 2023 Subaru Crosstrek could only get better. We count on improved aesthetics, along with nicer materials and better build quality. Furthermore, the new generation will bring new tech features, including a new infotainment screen. We presume it could come with the same massive touchscreen that recently debuted in the new WRX.
When it comes to the interior space, things will remain similar to the current model, which can accommodate adults in both rows. The cargo area isn’t particularly generous, so we might see some improvements in this aspect.
2023 Subaru Crosstrek Engines
The current model comes in three versions regarding powertrain. Two of them use nothing but gasoline and we presume that both of these units will carry on in the same way, though a slight power increase is always possible. Base models would probably continue with a 2.0-liter flat-four that puts out 152 horsepower, while a more powerful 2.5-liter unit would be reserved for higher trim levels. This one currently puts out 182 horsepower.
On the other hand, we would expect to see a new hybrid powertrain on the offer. The current one features a plug-in hybrid setup, based on a 2.0-liter engine, with a combined output of 148 horsepower. The new generation should come with more power, bigger battery, better autonomy etc.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Release Date and Price
We expect that the new-generation 2023 Subaru Crosstrek will hit the market sometime in the second half of the year. The current model starts at around 23.000 dollars and we don’t expect a significant increase in the future. Key competitors are models like Honda HR-V, Hyundai Kona, Chevrolet TrailBlazer etc.
