If we consider that the current generation of Jeep’s well-known SUV has been around for nearly eight years, all those reports about the redesign make perfect sense. Even though the officials are still quiet, we expect that the all-new 2023 Jeep Cherokee will debut by the end of this year. This should be a comprehensive redesign and we expect all kinds of upgrades, starting from completely new mechanics, new exterior design, new interior, new powertrain options and more.
At this point, there are two possible scenarios for the 2023 Jeep Cherokee. In both cases, things would be notably different compared to the current generations. One of the possibilities is to see the new model going more upscale, with the design that’s based on the Giorgio platform. The other possibility is to see benefits from merging with PSA Group, which would manifest in the way that the new Cherokee would share a lot of parts with some of the Peugeot models.

2023 Jeep Cherokee Redesign
As we’ve just mentioned, there are two possibilities for the 2023 Jeep Cherokee. The first and more probable one is to see a design that’s based on the Giorgio platform. The well-known architecture from Alfa Romeo already underpins the new Grand Cherokee, so this wouldn’t be a surprise at all. It would bring all kinds of benefits, starting from weight reduction, improved driving characteristics and similar things. The key difference would be the fact that this is an RWD platform, while the outgoing model is an FWD car with transversally mounted engines.
The other possibility is to see a Cherokee based on PSA’s platform. If that happens, we presume that the new 2023 Jeep Cherokee would have most things in common with models like Peugeot 3008, which is also a compact crossover. This also means that there would be a lot of room for the implementation of new technologies, especially in terms of electrification.
Exterior
While the changes under the skin will probably be pretty significant, the exterior design probably won’t bring such radical changes. Instead, we expect to see the evolution of the current design. In other words, the overall shape is expected to remain pretty much the same, with just a slight increase in size, particularly in wheelbase.
Of course, the styling would be adapted to the brand’s new design language, which can be seen on models like the new Grand Cherokee and revived Wagoneer. Naturally, the 2023 Jeep Cherokee would also come with a couple of exclusive details as well.

Interior
This is where we expect a lot from the new 2023 Jeep Cherokee. The current generation doesn’t impress in terms of the interior quality and overall cabin design. Key competitors feel way more upscale and that’s why we expect that the new generation will bring more attractive dashboard design, finer materials and better build quality. Furthermore, we count on much more tech features, starting from a new infotainment system, digital instrument cluster and all kinds of connectivity features.
The new generation will probably feature a slightly longer wheelbase, which means that we may expect more passenger room as well. Furthermore, we also count on more cargo space, considering that the current generation doesn’t impress in this aspect.
2023 Jeep Cherokee Engines
When it comes to the powertrain, it all depends on the platform. If the 2023 Jeep Cherokee is about to use the Giorgio platform, it’s pretty much for sure that the base powertrain will be a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 280 horsepower. Also, this means we could easily see a plug-in hybrid setup, the same one that powers the new Grand Cherokee, with the max output of 375 horses.
On the other hand, cooperation with the French manufacturer would probably mean more electrified options on the offer. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is PSA’s new plug-in hybrid system, based on a 1.6-liter turbo-four engine, which comes in two variants, with either 225 or 300 horsepower. The latter includes an additional electric motor on the rear axle.

2023 Jeep Cherokee Release Date and Price
As we already mentioned, the officials are still quiet but we believe that the 2023 Jeep Cherokee could arrive by the end of the year. When it comes to the price, we presume that base versions would cost around 28.000 dollars, roughly.
