Jeep’s entry-level crossover has been around for a pretty long time. It was introduced back in 2014 but it looks like the company doesn’t play to redesign it in the near future. Instead, we are about to see another, second facelift of the generation. That model is about to come as the 2023 Jeep Renegade and from what we know so far, it will bring various changes. Of course, styling updates are the first thing that comes to mind, but the new model will also bring important interior updates. On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle is expected to remain the same.
Without any doubt, these updates will make the Renegade more competitive but the overall layout will remain the same. We are about to see a familiar layout and familiar design characteristics. The Renegade will continue to be the best off-roader in the class, but it will offer many other benefits, such as a smooth ride, comfortable cabin and intuitive infotainment system.
Despite the updates, we don’t expect to see the 2023 Jeep Renegade before fall.

2023 Jeep Renegade Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Jeep Renegade is expected to receive another facelift. We already saw such an update a few years ago but it looks like the company wants to keep the current generation for some more time. Therefore, some subtle but very nice changes are about to come for the next year. At this point, we can rely on Brazilian sources, where the testing model was spotted. We expect to see slight revision at the front end, where the 2023 Renegade would bring a revised grille and bumper. Of course, we also expect to see things like new color options, new wheels etc.
On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle is about to remain the same. This will remain a crossover that offers a smooth and comfortable ride, along with excellent off-road capabilities. The Trailhawk version features 8.7 inches of ground clearance, low-range gearing, hill descent control, a couple of skid plates, off-road tires and many more goodies.
Interior
What’s interesting is that this update is also about bringing a lot of novelties to interior design. From what we can see on spy shots, the company prepares similar updates to those we saw in the new Compass. Therefore, we expect to see a new steering wheel, along with a digital instrument cluster. Furthermore, the company may update the infotainment system and also bring the new touchscreen.

Still, the overall cabin layout will remain the same, so you may count on the same level of comfort. Thanks to the pretty boxy shape, this crossover is pretty generous with headroom, while the amount of legroom is pretty decent as well.
On the other hand, the cargo area isn’t all that impressive. You may count on about 18.5 cubic feet behind the second row and 50.5 cubic feet of the total cargo volume, which is below average for the segment.
Features
Without any doubt, this update will bring novelties in terms of standard and available equipment. We already talked about the new infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster. Other novelties are also expected but keep in mind that the current model already stands pretty well in this aspect.
For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like dual-zone climate control, an 8.4-inch touch screen, navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a USB port, satellite radio, voice recognition, and a six-speaker stereo. The current list of available features includes a 7-inch digital instrument cluster display, ambient interior lighting, proximity keyless entry, remote start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a household-style power outlet, a dual-pane panoramic roof, premium audio system etc.
2023 Jeep Renegade Engine
Unlike the rest of the vehicle, this aspect will remain untouched. Therefore, the 2023 Jeep Renegade will continue with the same 1.3-liter turbo-four, which is good for about 177 horsepower. This engine also features 210 pound-feet of max torque, which is the reason why driving dynamics are surprisingly good, despite the small displacement.
The engine comes in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which can be slow with shifts sometimes. Still, the overall impression is that the transmission works quite well. When it comes to fuel economy, you may count on about 24 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, which is low for the segment of subcompact SUVs.

2023 Jeep Renegade Release Date and Price
We expect to see the 2023 Jeep Renegade sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 24.000 dollars. Models like Subaru Crosstrek, Kia Soul and Chevy Trailblazer could be some of the key competitors.
