Under the bonnet of the 2020 Renegade Hybrid will be a 1.3-liter petrol unit. This one is a part of a Euro-spec crossover. It replaced a 1.4-liter turbo-four unit. A 1.3-l drivetrain is capable to produce 180 hp. However, next season it is getting support by an electric battery that will make the total power jump to 250 horsepower.
The company released expectations from this unit. According to engineers, the plug-in hybrid version of the crossover will be able to go 31 miles by using only an electric motor. The 2020 Jeep Renegade Hybrid will need seven seconds to reach 60 mph from the stop, and the top speed of the new model is 80 mph.
Well, fuel economy numbers are not official yet. Standard crossover returns 27 mpg, which is not among the best records in the segment. With a hybrid setup, these numbers will jump to 31-32 mpg combined. Of course, the Renegade Hybrid will make better performance in urban conditions than outside the cities on the open road.

The new crossover will be built in Italy. One of the partners in FCA company is Fiat, and the Renegade will roll out of its plant in Melfi.
