The popular mid-size SUV has just been redesigned and after all the novelties that were introduced, we are pretty sure that we won’t be seeing bigger changes in the near future. Therefore, the 2023 Acura MDX, which will represent the second production year, will probably come without more important updates. We expect to see a familiar layout, while the list of standard equipment should also remain largely the same.
You may count on a mid-cycle crossover that has so many great things to offer, starting from capable engine options, spacious cabin and composed handling. The MDX will also continue with a long list of standard equipment, both in terms of tech and safety features. When it comes to main complaints, the first thing that comes to mind is the infotainment system, which is a little bit complicated to use. Also, the suspension setup may feel too firm to some.
Considering that there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2023 Acura MDX will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2022.

2023 Acura MDX Design
Since we are talking about the second production year, it’s easy to conclude that bigger changes won’t occur. The 2023 Acura MDX will continue in the same way, with all the changes that were introduced with the 2022 model. The recent redesign has brought a lot of new things, starting from a bigger size and more space on the inside. For example, the new model features 113.8 inches in wheelbase, which is 2.8 inches more compared to the predecessor.
Of course, there is also a new styling, which follows the brand’s latest design language. The new model is even sharper and more aggressive than before. Considering the new styling, the only thing that could happen next year is the addition of new color options, though a new visual package doesn’t sound unrealistic either.
Interior
The inside of the 2023 Acura MDX won’t change either. We expect to see the same cabin layout, which has a lot of great things to offer. For example, we like how the dashboard looks, as it nicely combines all those tech features with a solid number of physical controls. In that way, the cabin is both elegant and functional. Also, the materials are nice, while the build quality is pretty good, though not exactly on the same level as German competitors.

When it comes to interior functionality, there is nothing to complain about. This crossover comes standard with three rows of seats and while the first two rows are quite spacious, while the third row can also be pretty functional. When it comes to the cargo area, you may count on about 16.3 cubic feet of room behind the third-row seats, 39.1 cubic feet with the third-row seats folded down, and 71.4 of the total cargo volume.
Features
A couple of novelties are possible here and there but most of the things should remain the same. Therefore, base models should come standard with goodies like tri-zone climate control, moonroof, a 12.3-inch display, a touchpad controller, a nine-speaker stereo, satellite radio, HD Radio, USB ports, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless device charging, Amazon Alexa, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Among upgrades, we expect to see things like navigation, additional USB ports, and a 12-, 16-, or 25-speaker ELS audio system.
The same thing goes for safety features. All models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, driver drowsiness monitoring, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, road departure mitigation, blind spot monitoring, traffic jam assist, rear cross traffic alert, and traffic sign recognition. Among upgrades, you may expect to see things like a head-up display, front and rear parking sensors, and a surround-view parking camera system.
2023 Acura MDX Engines
Things under the hood won’t change either. So, base models will continue with a 3.5-liter V6, which puts out around 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission and offers pretty good driving dynamics. Furthermore, you may count on 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, which is typical fuel economy for the segment.
For those who are looking for something peppier, there is the Type S model, which comes with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine that puts out around 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque.

2023 Acura MDX Release Date and Price
Since there are no bigger changes to come with the 2023 Acura MDX, we presume that the launch date will be scheduled for the last quarter of 2022. When it comes to the price, base models should go around 48.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Lexus RX, BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE etc.
