2023 Audi Q5

It’s been nearly five years since Audi’s compact crossover was redesigned the last time. However, the current generation is still competitive and even looks quite fresh, thanks to the updates we’ve seen in the last couple of years. Besides the 2021 facelift, which has brought new styling, the 2022 model also comes with some interesting updates, with a bigger battery and new appearance packages. Considering all these updates, we presume that the current generation is about to remain in production for another few years. This also means that the 2023 Audi Q5 should carry on without bigger changes.

So, we know what to expect from the next year’s model. It will continue to deliver familiar pros and cons. When it comes to the things we like, the interior design comes to mind first, as it features excellent build quality and also comes with loads of tech features. Furthermore, we like the wide powertrain offer, as well as a well-balanced ride.

As there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2023 Audi Q5 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2022.

2023 Audi Q5 Design

The overall design will remain the same, but keep in mind the updates we’ve seen in the last few years. The 2021 update has brought a refreshed styling, with a completely new front end that follows the brand’s latest design language. Furthermore, we should mention that since 2022, all models come standard with the S-Line visual package. Also, there is a newly-introduced Black Optics visual package, which offers several blacked-out exterior details, as well as blacked wheels.

On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle is about to remain the same. This model rides on the company’s familiar MLB platform and offers a well-balanced ride, which is both comfortable and athletic. Also, it’s worth mentioning that all models come standard with the company’s well-known Quattro AWD system.

Interior

Interior quality has always been a strong point of this compact SUV and the 2023 Audi Q5 will be no exception. We are about to see a familiar cabin layout which, despite the age, still looks fresh and very appealing. That’s mainly because of the combination of conservative aesthetics and high-quality materials, while the build quality is as in any other Audi – excellent. Also, there is a full load of tech features, which makes everything look even more upscale.

The driving position is good, while the seats are comfortable. Both rows offer enough space to accommodate adults with ease, though we have to see that rivals like BMW X3 offer more passenger room in the second row. The cargo area is definitely one of the weak points. You may count on about 25.8 cubic feet behind the second row and 54 cubic feet of the total cargo volume. That’s below-average for the segment.

Features

Yearly updates usually bring a few additions to the list of standard features, so the 2023 Audi Q5 might come with some of them too. However, most of the things are about to remain the same. So, base models should come standard with goodies like a 10.1-inch touch screen, Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, two USB ports, HD Radio, a 10-speaker stereo, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless device charging, tri-zone automatic climate control, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster display, a universal garage door opener, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. When it comes to upgrades, the current model offers satellite radio, navigation, premium audio system, panoramic sunroof, keyless entry and Audi’s well-known 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

When it comes to safety, all models should come standard with a rearview camera, parking sensors, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning etc.

2023 Audi Q5 Engines

Things under the hood definitely won’t change. So, base versions will continue with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 261 horsepower. It comes in pair with a dual-clutch transmission, while the AWD system is also part of the standard equipment. The power delivery is really good and we are pretty sure that the base engine would be the best choice for most drivers. Still, keep in mind that the average fuel economy goes around 23 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, which is below average for the segment.

2023 Audi Q5 Release Date

For those who are looking for something peppier, there is a 3.0-liter V6, which puts around 350 horsepower. Finally, there is a plug-in hybrid version, based on turbo-four, with a max output of 362 horsepower. The battery has just been upgraded and now features a 17.9-kWh capacity, which is enough to ensure 23 miles of the all-electric range.

2023 Audi Q5 Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2023 Audi Q5 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2023, with a starting price of around 45.000 dollars.
