Audi’s smallest crossover has been in the current form since 2016 and it looks like the German manufacturer isn’t rushing with changes. The recent update clearly indicates that the current generation is about to remain in production for a few more years. This update also indicates that the 2022 Audi Q2 probably won’t feature any bigger changes. However, there is always a chance to see minor updates, such as new color options, new standards and available features.

All in all, you may count on a familiar layout, which delivers familiar design characteristics. This crossover is small and maneuverable, and we really like its wide engine lineup. Furthermore, the list of standard and available equipment is quite long, while the interior quality is really good. On the other side, we don’t the ride quality, which isn’t exactly premium, while the rearward visibility could be better.

Considering that there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2022 Audi Q2 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2022 Audi Q2 Design

Design-wise, not too many things have changed since the initial launch in 2016. This tiny crossover offers the same design characteristics, starting from really compact dimensions, which make it very maneuverable. Like other small Audi models, this one also rides on a mainstream MQB platform, which features a transversally mounted engine. Still, that isn’t the main compromise of the Q2. The biggest complaint goes to the suspension setup, which is quite rudimental and isn’t something you would expect from a crossover with a premium badge. You will find a torsion beam on the rear end, which is one of the main reasons why this crossover isn’t particularly engaging to drive.

As we already mentioned, the last year’s update has brought a couple of interesting styling changes and the 2022 Audi Q2 will continue in the same way. It has brought a couple of new details, starting from a revised grille, more aggressive bumper design etc. The rear bumper is also new, while we also saw updates like new wheels, color options etc.

So, the best 2022 Audi Q2 could bring are minor updates, such as new color options and similar things.

Interior

Unlike the exterior, the interior design hasn’t changed too much since the initial launch. That may be the reason why it looks a little bit old compared to other Audi models. You can see a dashboard with recognizable round air vents and a tablet-like infotainment screen, which are design elements typical for the previous generation of models with four rings. However, that doesn’t mean that the interior is bad. Moreover, it looks really nice. The materials are fine, while the build quality is really good.

Also, you can find a lot of tech features. The infotainment system works great, while you can even opt for the company’s well-known digital instrument screen, known as Virtual Cockpit. You can also get things like wireless charging, Wi-Fi Hotspot, navigation etc.

When it comes to interior space, you can’t expect too much from a vehicle of this size. The front seats are spacious and comfortable, while taller passengers may have trouble with the rear seats. The cargo area is typical for the class.

2022 Audi Q2 Engines

This aspect shouldn’t bring changes and the 2022 Audi Q2 should continue with familiar engine options on the offer. Therefore, base models will feature a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which puts out around 110 horsepower. You can also get a new 1.5-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 150 horsepower. Finally, there is the range-topping 2.0-liter turbo-four, which is good for about 190 horsepower.

Of course, you can also get models with the well-known TDI turbodiesel engine. A well-known 2.0-liter unit comes in two output variants, with either 150 or 190 horsepower. On some markets, you can also get a 1.6-liter TDI, which puts out 115 horsepower.
