Cadillac’s mid-size crossover has been around for a while and the 2023 Cadillac XT6 will represent the fourth production year of the generation. Therefore, it’s no wonder that some sources suggest a mid-cycle refresh. However, the officials are still quiet on this, which indicates that we will have to wait for a little bit more to see these kinds of changes. On the other hand, we won’t exclude the possibility to see minor updates like new color options and more standard equipment.
The 2023 Cadillac XT6 will bring a familiar design and features. We like its attractive, Escalade-inspired styling, as well as its spacious cabin and intuitive infotainment system. However, the XT6 isn’t without flaws. Most rivals offer a higher level of athleticism, while the interior quality isn’t spectacular either.
Considering that bigger changes probably won’t happen, we expect that the 2023 Cadillac XT6 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2023 Cadillac XT6 Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Cadillac XT6 won’t bring bigger changes. It will continue with the familiar design, which certainly stands out with its styling, which takes a lot of inspiration from the Escala concept. Generally, it should age pretty well and even if the company makes some changes in the future, they probably won’t be significant. For the next year, we expect to see no more than a couple of new color options.
On the other hand, mechanical changes definitely won’t happen. This crossover is based on GM’s familiar C1 platform, the same one that underpins models like GMC Acadia. Due to the FF layout and relatively simple suspension setup, the driving experience isn’t particularly impressive. Rivals like Acura MDX feel far more athletic. On the other hand, the ride is smooth and comfortable.
Interior
On the inside, things look pretty nice at first. The dashboard looks attractive, while there is also a decent amount of tech features. However, if you look closer, you will notice that the materials aren’t all that great, while the build quality isn’t particularly impressive either.
However, the cabin is spacious and comfortable. The seats are nice, while the first two rows accommodate adults with ease. The front seats are also pretty supportive, while the driving position is good. On the other hand, things aren’t all that great in the third row, which seems logical, considering the model’s relatively modest wheelbase of 112.2 inches.
Fort the same reason, you won’t get much cargo space behind the third row, just 12.6 cubic feet. You may count on 43.1 cubic feet with the third row folded, and 78.7 cubes with the second and third rows folded, which is good for the segment.
Features
We might see some additions to the list of standard equipment but most of the things will remain the same. Therefore, base models should come standard with goodies like tri-zone climate control, remote start, sunroof, an 8-inch touch screen, an eight-speaker Bose audio system, satellite radio, six USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The list of optional features should include goodies like a digital instrument cluster, a Bose 14-speaker audio system, wireless device charging, and navigation.
When it comes to safety features, all models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist etc. The list of optional safety features should include goodies like a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, reverse automatic emergency braking, parallel and perpendicular park assist, surround-view camera, rear camera mirror etc.
2023 Cadillac XT6 Engines
Things under the hood will carry on in the same way. So, base models will continue with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The engine comes in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission and the overall driving dynamics are good enough to satisfy most drivers. Still, those who look for something peppier can opt for the well-known 3.6-liter V6, which puts out around 310 horsepower.
Base models come with front-wheel drive, while AWD is available. When it comes to fuel economy, the base turbo-four returns around 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The V6 is good for about 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Both ratings are typical for the class.

We expect that the 2023 Cadillac XT6 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 49.000 dollars.
