2021 Kia Telluride Review: Colors, Nightfall Edition, SX, LX

2021 Kia Telluride

The amazing Telluride enters the second production year. After the last-year launch and excellent reception, it’s pretty obvious that there are no bigger changes for the 2021 Kia Telluride. It carries on in the same way, with the same overall design. Still, there is one pretty important novelty to mention, which comes in the form of a new visual package, called Nightfall Edition. This package is reserved for higher trim levels and brings a lot of exclusive aesthetical details.

The rest of the vehicles remain the same. This is still a pretty fresh crossover, which is amazing in many aspects, starting from a luxurious cabin, cushioned ride, long list of standard features etc. We also like the powerfulV6 engine, which ensures a smooth ride. Finally, the infotainment system is pretty intuitive so all in all, it’s hard to find any bigger complaint about this amazing three-row SUV. The 2021 Kia Telluride has already arrived in most showrooms.

2021 Kia Telluride Redesign

As the 2021 Kia Telluride represents the second production year, it’s obvious that there are no significant changes. You may count on the same layout, which combines luxury with new technologies. Such a combination provides a great driving experience, which is somehow both composed and cushioned. Most of the parts are shared with Hyundai Palisade, thought this Kia features a little bit different suspension setup, which provides a little bit more engaging driving experience.

When it comes to styling, things have remained completely the same, just like we expected. You may count on a familiar styling, though there are few interesting novelties. We’ve already mentioned the new Nightfall appearance package. This one brings exclusive details like the blacked grille, wheels etc. Also, we should mention two new color options in the offer – Black Copper and Sangria. Other than that, things have remained the same.

On the inside, the 2021 Kia Telluride comes with any particular change. It carries with the same layout, which makes this crossover one of the best-looking in the class. The dashboard features loads of clean lines, while materials and color schemes almost at the level of a premium crossover. A great thing to know is that you may count on amazing materials and color schemes already in base trim levels.

2021 Kia Telluride Interior

Besides impressive build quality, this model is also characterized by plenty of room for the passengers. The first two rows are very generous in terms of space, while the third row is adult-friendly as well. Seats are also very comfortable, while the sound insulation is pretty amazing as well.

When it comes to the cargo area, you may count on above-average numbers for the class. This crossover offers around 21 cubic feet of cargo space behind its third-row seats, 46 cubic feet with these seats folded, and 87 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded.

The list of standard features is pretty long and includes things like keyless entry, remote start, an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, six speakers, HD Radio, satellite radio, Bluetooth, and five USB ports. Additionally, you can get goodies like a 10.2-inch touch screen, navigation, an extra USB port, wireless device charging, an intercom, and a 10-speaker Harman Kardon stereo. You can also get things like dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, hands-free tailgate etc.

When it comes to safety, the list of standard equipment includes things like a rearview camera, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning etc. In higher trim levels, you can also get goodies like automatic high-beams, front parking sensors, surround camera, head-up display etc.

2021 Kia Telluride Engine

Things under the hood have also remained the same. The 2021 Kia Telluride carries on with a familiar 3.8-liter V6 engine, which puts around 291 horsepower and comes in pair with 8-speed automatic transmission. Such a combination ensures pretty strong dynamics, so this crossover acts pretty amazing in all driving situations. The handling is great, while the excellent sound insulation makes the ride relaxing at highway speeds.

Probably the only thing about this crossover that’s not amazing (but isn’t that bad either) is fuel economy. You may count on relatively typical ratings for the class. In numbers, that would be around 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Of course, AWD models are slightly thirstier.

2021 Kia Telluride Pricing and Competition

When it comes to the price, base models go around 33.000 dollars. On the other side, range-topping models can easily go up to 45.000 dollars, if not more. When it comes to the competition, some of the key rivals would be models like Mazda CX-9, VW Atlas, Chevy Traverse etc.
