The luxurious off-roader has just been redesigned, after a full 15 years. The new generation brings a full load of novelties and improvements, starting from the new styling, new interior design, new powertrain etc. However, that doesn’t mean that we won’t be seeing novelties for the second production year. If we can trust the latest reports, the 2023 Lexus LX 600 will bring a new, off-road version to the offer. The exact trim name is yet to come, but we expect to see all kinds of off-road hardware, which will put the new LX on par with the new Range Rover.
On the other hand, the overall layout is about to remain the same. The recent redesign has brought a lot of novelties and the new generation impresses in so many ways. We like its luxurious cabin, as well as a pretty efficient powertrain. Furthermore, the list of standard equipment is very long, while the ride is very smooth.
Despite the expected novelties, we don’t believe that the 2023 Lexus LX 600 could arrive before the last quarter of the year.

2023 Lexus LX 600 Design
Design-wise, the 2023 Lexus LX 600 will continue in the same way. The recent redesign has brought a lot of significant novelties, starting from a completely new platform. The new generation rides on the TNGA-F architecture and one of the biggest benefits comes in terms of significant weight reduction, as the new model is more than 400 pounds lighter than its predecessor. Also, we like the new suspension setup, which makes this SUV not just a capable off-roader, but smooth on the road as well.
The second production year is expected to bring a high-performance off-roader. This version should bring all kinds of off-road upgrades. So, besides standard four-wheel-drive, crawl control and selectable traction modes, we count on many other features. We expect to see similar hardware to the new Land Cruiser 300, which means three locking differentials, upgraded suspension with higher ground clearance, upgraded wheels and tires, a two-speed transfer case and many other things.
Interior
On the other hand, we don’t expect to see bigger changes on the inside. The new model looks great from the inside. It combines nice materials and new tech features with attractive aesthetics, while the overall build quality is at a pretty impressive level. Furthermore, we like the fact that all models come fully loaded with standard equipment.

The new model kept the same wheelbase as the predecessor and as a result, the third row is still very tight, while the cargo area is notably smaller compared to rivals. On the other hand, the first two rows of seats are very generous with space. The front seats are massive and supportive, while the driving position is excellent, whether it’s about ergonomics or outward visibility.
Features
We don’t believe that too many changes could happen in this aspect, especially if we consider that the current model already comes fully loaded with standard equipment. All models come standard with goodies like 12.3-inch and 7-inch touch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 10-speaker premium stereo, Bluetooth, four USB ports, satellite radio, wireless device charging, navigation, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster display, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a universal garage door opener, and a moonroof. The list of available features isn’t particularly long and includes goodies like ambient lighting, a center console cooler, two additional USB ports, a 25-speaker Mark Levinson surround-sound stereo, rear wireless device charging, and a rear-seat entertainment system with two 11.4-inch displays.
When it comes to safety features, all models should come standard with goodies like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane tracing assist, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, surround-view parking camera, front and rear parking sensors etc. A head-up display and a rearview mirror camera should remain optional features.
2023 Lexus LX 600 Engine
Things under the hood probably won’t change. Therefore, the 2023 Lexus LX 600 will continue with the new 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6, which features a max output of 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. The engine comes coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which shifts very quickly and smoothly. The whole system feels very refined while driving dynamics are great.
As we already mentioned, four-wheel drive is standard. The average fuel economy goes around 17 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway, which is typical for the class. The max towing capacity goes around 8.000 pounds.

2023 Lexus LX 600 Release Date and Price
We expect to see the 2023 Lexus LX 600 sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 87.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Range Rover, Mercedes G Class, Jeep Grand Wagoneer etc.
