2023 Lincoln Aviator

The current generation of Lincoln’s mid-size SUV was relaunched after 15 years of brake for the 2020 model year. Therefore, the 2023 Lincoln Aviator will represent the fourth production year, which means that we shouldn’t expect bigger changes. Most of the things should remain the same. Of course, there is always a chance to see minor updates, such as new color options, new standard features etc. Some sources also speculate about the new appearance package.

On the other hand, the overall layout will certainly remain the same, which means that we may count on familiar pros and cons. There are many things to like about this crossover, starting from a punchy V6 engine and even punchier hybrid. Furthermore, we like its cabin design, which is stylish and pretty spacious. Finally, the infotainment system is intuitive and easy to use. On the other hand, the third row is tight, while the hybrid version is quite pricey.

Since there are no significant changes to come, we expect that the 2023 Lincoln Aviator will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2023 Lincoln Aviator Design

When it comes to the overall design, we definitely don’t expect to see any bigger changes. This SUV is based on the company’s familiar CD6 platform, the same one that underpins the Mustang. However, this SUV has most things in common with Ford Explorer. It shares most of its parts with the legendary SUV, though we have to say that the Aviator features a more refined suspension setup, which ensures a smoother and more comfortable drive.

Visually, things are pretty familiar here. The Aviator follows the brand’s contemporary design language, established by the current-generation Navigator. Most of the vehicle features clean lines, which is one of the reasons why we believe this model will age pretty well. For the next year, we can hear rumors about the new appearance package but the officials are still quiet on this matter.

Interior

Interior changes aren’t expected either. The 2023 Lincoln Aviator is about to continue with a familiar cabin design, which is great in so many ways. What we like about it is the elegant dashboard design, which is complemented with high-quality materials. Furthermore, tech features are well incorporated and don’t affect the classic look of the dash at all. The rest of the cabin also features high-quality materials and great build quality.

When it comes to passenger space, keep in mind that this SUV features more than 119 inches of wheelbase. So, the amount of legroom is pretty generous, at least in the first two rows. On the other hand, the third row is a little bit tighter than you would expect from a vehicle of this size.

The cargo area offers around 18.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seats, 41.8 cubic feet with these seats folded, and 77.7 cubic feet of the total cargo volume, which is pretty good for the segment.

Features

We are pretty sure that most of the things are about to remain the same for the next year. Therefore, the list of standard equipment should include goodies like tri-zone climate control, keyless entry, remote start, a 10.1-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, satellite radio, a 10-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, four USB ports, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. There are also several options on the offer, such as quad-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, digital key, navigation, HD Radio, wireless device charging, and a 14- or 28-speaker Revel sound system, and a rear-seat entertainment system with two 10-inch displays.

When it comes to safety, all models should come standard with systems like a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, lane keep assist etc.

2023 Lincoln Aviator Engines

We count on two familiar powertrain options on the offer. Base models should continue with the same 3.0-liter V6, which puts out around 400 horsepower. While that’s already an impressive amount of power, buyers can also opt for the plug-in hybrid version, which uses the same engine but gets an additional electric motor, for a total output of 494 horsepower and an all-electric range of 21 miles.

Both powertrains come coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which works pretty well. The base engine returns around 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, while the hybrid version returns around 23 mpg in standard mode and 56 mpg-e in the EV mode.
