The 2020 Toyota RAV4 remains the flagship model. This crossover is very popular in all markets. Since its redesign in 2012 the sales go up. In 2018 we saw the new generation of the compact SUV, and it is ready for first minor updates next season. Well, these modifications are not big on the cosmetic side. The engine room could get a new unit. The RAV4 hybrid is the vehicle we are listening about for a while. Next season the Japanese company is finally launching it.
Well, changes under the hood are always the most interesting. However, small updates around the crossover will be also notable. The 2020 Toyota RAV4 could introduce a new trim level with extra equipment. Currently, the most expensive version is Limited edition. 2020 Toyota RAV4 Specs
Under the hood of the Toyota RAV4 is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The compact crossover is not offering any other drivetrain at the moment, and it is one of the downsides. The next edition will add a choice with a hybrid unit, but the petrol option remains the same. Well, the engine is reliable, durable, and fuel-friendly. It can create 203 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front or all wheels. Buyers can also choose on some trim level to get the crossover with auto start/stop feature. It increases fuel economy in the city drive but returns less miles per gallon on the highway.
The new 2020 Toyota RAV4 will have a gas mileage of 26/35 mpg with the base setup. Automatic start/stop system adds 2 miles for city drive and it is available only for crossovers with AWD. Combined fuel economy will be around 38 mpg. The company is going to install the same transmission and start/stop system. Well, the hybrid model will also be available with FWD and AWD modes. According to announcements, the same petrol drivetrain is the base for the new system. Electric support will increase the total power output to 220 hp. With a single refuel, the new Rav4 Hybrid will be able to go 600 miles.
2020 Toyota RAV4 Restyling
The new 2020 Toyota RAV4 hybrid will definitely use some special parts to look different than the base model. After the redesign in 2018, there is no need for a larger revisit. On the other hand, the situation changes very quickly in the compact segment, so minor updates are required for every new model. Currently, RAV4 is available in five trim levels.
