The HR-V is definitely one of the best models in the class. A practical and functional interior, good ride quality and class-leading mpg ratings are some of the things you can count on. The current generation has been around for several years and a refresh came recently. It has brought new styling, as well as a bunch of new features. Considering all the novelties, we usually wouldn’t expect to see more important changes only a year later. However, it looks like something is about to happen. Allegedly, we are finally about to see a new engine option in the offer. To remind you, the current model is available with just one engine. Other than a new engine, the 2020 Honda HR-V should carry on in the same way, featuring familiar styling and overall design characteristics.
Still, some minor updates are possible. Expect to see the new model sometime late in the year.

2020 Honda HR-V Redesign
In terms of base design characteristics, the 2020 Honda HR-V definitely won’t change too much. We saw a refresh recently, which has brought a fine amount of new styling details. The most notable is definitely a new grille design, which is pretty much the same as on the new Civic. Also, LED headlights have been tweaked. On the other end, the new model gets revised taillights. Finally, both bumpers have been reshaped and now feature similar layout to bigger crossovers, such as the CR-V.
Other than that, the updated model carried on in the same way and we have no doubt that the 2020 Honda HR-V will do the same. It will continue with a familiar shape and overall design. Same goes to mechanics, which haven’t changed much since the initial launch. The biggest changes we could see for the next year are new color options. Other than that, things will remain the same.

2020 Honda HR-V Interior
Subcompact crossovers aren’t vehicles that can offer you lots of space, practicality and functionality on the inside. However, the HR-V is quite good considering its dimensions. You can count on a decent amount of space on the inside. Both rows are quite comfortable, though taller passenger may wish more legroom in the second row. Also, seats are a little bit narrow, definitely not for longer journeys. Also, power-adjustable driver’s seat is available only in most expensive versions. Still, there are typical issues of subcompact crossovers and keep in mind that this model is one of the leaders when it comes to comfort and interior spaces. The cargo area is generous as well. You can count 25 cubic feet behind rear seats, while the overall capacity goes up to 59 cubic feet. These are probably class-leading figures.
When it comes to the overall quality, this model definitely justifies the company’s reputation. All the materials seem good and durable, while the dashboard looks great. It is rather simple but very attractive. Also, the center stack has been revised recently, so you can count on more convenient use of controls.

2020 Honda HR-V Features
The biggest complaint goes to the fact that Honda isn’t very generous when it comes to standard equipment. Base models come with just a few tech goodies, such as Bluetooth, USB port and just a regular 5-inch audio display. A 7-inch touchscreen is standard in all but the base model. Other available features are automatic climate control, a moonroof, remote start, a six-speaker stereo, an additional USB port, satellite radio, and navigation. One of the biggest novelties is that the 2020 Honda HR-V will finally offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In terms of safety, a rearview camera is the only standard feature in base models. However, the list of available safety systems is pretty long and includes things like lane departure warning, lane keep assist, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and much more.

2020 Honda HR-V Engines
One of the biggest novelties for the 2020 Honda HR-V could be a new engine. The current model is available in just one version. It is a 1.8-liter atmospheric four-cylinder unit that delivers around 140 horsepower. With such an engine, the HR-V definitely can’t provide you with some spectacular performances. On the other side, it delivers class-leading fuel economy.
In order to attract buyers who don’t want just practical, but also a more dynamic ride. According to the latest reports, the HR-V could come next year with a 1.5-liter turbo-four engine, the same one that powers Civic and a few other models. It delivers around 190 horsepower, which is an amount of power that would definitely make this crossover very exciting to drive.

2020 Honda HR-V Release Date
The 2020 Honda HR-V will come with a couple of novelties. However, it probably won’t come earlier than usual. It should hit the market late in the year and we are pretty sure that the price will remain unchanged, at least when it comes to base models. The current model starts at 20.500 dollars.
