2020 Lexus NX 300 Redesign, Price

2020 Lexus NX 300 review

The NX represents Toyota’s luxury brand in the segment of the compact crossover. It came as an all-new model five years ago and many experts suggest its redesign in the near future. At this point, we haven’t got any official statement from the company’s officials, but there is a long list of reasons why this should happen. As you may presume, this crossovers shares a lot with Toyota’s bestseller RAV4. Platform, chassis, engines and rest of the mechanics are the parts that are pretty much identical in two models.

However, the RAV4 received a complete redesign recently. It now rides on the company’s new TNGA platform, while the NX still sports the previous New MC architecture. Considering all the benefits that the new platform brings, this redesign sounds very realistic. Still, the problem is that there are no words from the officials yet, which is a clear indicator that the 2020 Lexus NX 300 is likely to continue in the same way, at least for one more year.

2020 Lexus NX 300 Redesign

In our opinion, the 2020 Lexus NX 300 definitely won’t get a redesign. A complete overhaul will probably happen in a couple of years. This leads us to the conclusion that the next year definitely won’t bring anything more important. This refers to all aspects, starting from the mechanics. As we already mentioned, this crossover shares a lot with the RAV4, but with its previous generation, codenamed XA40. The styling is also about to remain unchanged. Despite speculations about the redesign, the current generation actually isn’t that old. Therefore, the styling still looks pretty fresh and follows the brand’s design language almost entirely. So, we don’t count on changes in this aspect either. The 2020 Lexus NX 300 will continue with a familiar styling and only possible changes could be new color options in the offer.

Once again, don’t count on more important changes. The 2020 Lexus NX 300 will continue with a familiar cabin design, which offers pretty good overall quality, but has weak points as well. When it comes to materials, most of them are soft on touch, though hard plastics can be found as well. Still, the overall impression is pretty good, since the dashboard styling is pretty attractive. Seats are massive and supportive and both rows offer plenty of space.
However, this crossover features a so-called sloping roof, which definitely has a bad effect on practicality and overall functionality. First of all, it reduces headroom, so taller passengers could feel uncomfortable in the second row. Such design also means smaller windows and glass surfaces, which reduces visibility too. Finally, the cargo area is smaller compared to most rivals. Count on just 14 cubic feet behind rear seats and 54 cubic feet of overall cargo space.

2020 Lexus NX 300 Features

The organization of equipment groups is typical for this brand. There is the base model, which already comes with loads of standard equipment, and the F-Sport trim, which is more about visual upgrades than standard features.

The base model comes with things like 17-inch wheels, LED headlights, LED fog lights and running lights, keyless ignition, and entry, automatic high beams etc. Leather upholstery, 8-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats, and 8-speaker audio system are some of the interior highlights.
As we already mentioned, the F-Sport offers a little bit more standard equipment but brings a lot of distinctive details, starting from tuned suspension, new body kit, unique color schemes etc.
Of course, there is a fine number of optional packages in the offer, as well as standalone options.
In terms of safety features, all models are equipped with rearview camera, lane departure warning, lane keeps assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. Optional safety features are numerous as well. Some of them are bird’ s-eye-view camera system, parking sensors with automatic braking, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert.

2020 Lexus NX 300 Engine

We have no doubt that the 2020 Lexus NX 300 will continue with a familiar engine in the offer. It is a well-known 2.0-liter turbo inline-four, which delivers around 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It won’t give you any spectacular performances, but you can definitely count on great mpg ratings. This one returns around 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
A hybrid version, known as the NX 300h, is available as well. This is practically the same system from the previous-generation Toyota Camry, which delivers around 195 horsepower and comes paired with a CVT.

2020 Lexus NX 300 Release Date and Price

We are pretty sure that the 2020 Lexus NX 300 will hit the market late in the year. Changes in price are not expected, so base models should go around 36.500 dollars.
