After the recent update, we expect that the 2020 Renault Kadjar will carry on in the same way. The compact crossover has been around for almost four years and it already came with changes. Based on a familiar CMF platform, it shares a lot of parts with Nissan’s bestseller Qashqai. Given the expected production cycle, the current generation of this crossover should carry on for other several years. We probably won’t see bigger changes until a complete redesign, definitely not in the next year.
The 2020 Renault Kadjar will continue in the same way, with new engine options, as well as with new details on the exterior and interior designs. The best we could see are new standard features and tweaks like new color options, interior schemes, and similar things. Therefore, count on a typical launch date, sometime late in the year.
2020 Renault Kadjar Redesign
When it comes to base design characteristics, the 2020 Renault Kadjar is a typical compact crossover. It rides on a well-known CMF platform, which also underprints Nissan’s best-seller Qashqai. Count on typical SUV 5-door body style, based on the company’s latest design language. As you probably know, a new version came recently. We saw a mid-cycle update, which included several important changes. In terms of the exterior design, most things remained the same.
Still, the French manufacturer introduced some new styling details. Most of them are subtle and look very elegant. It is pretty much all about new headlamps and tweaks to the bumper, which includes new fog lights as well. Rest of the exterior design remained pretty much the same. For the next year, we probably won’t see too many changes. The 2020 Renault Kadjar should continue with the same design characteristics. Still, we could see a couple of new color options.
2020 Renault Kadjar Interior
The recent update also brought a couple of interesting changes on the inside. The new cabin features several improvements, especially on the dashboard. It comes with several new details but somehow still look quite blend. In any case, the center stack received the biggest portion of novelties. There is a new touchscreen display, as well as new climate controls. Also, Renault claims better overall interior quality, due to new materials.
Finally, the new model comes with better sound insulation, especially when it comes to wind noise at highway speeds. The rest of the cabin has remained pretty much the same and we have no doubt that the 2020 Renault Kadjar will continue in the same way as well. It will come with the same cabin, which offers a fine amount of leg and headroom in both rows, as well as a quite generous cargo volume. Of course, the list of standard equipment is pretty long as well.
2020 Renault Kadjar Engines
Once again, expect no changes. The recent update has brought completely new engines. The powertrain lineup has been replaced completely. There are two gasoline and two diesel options in the offer now. Of course, most European drivers still prefer oil-burners. Base models will come with a new version of a familiar 1.5-liter dCi that delivers around 115 horsepower. A more powerful version comes with a 1.7-liter dCi, which is good for about 150 horsepower.
Still, new gasoline options are actually the real deal. There is a new 1.3-liter turbo gasoline engine, which comes in two output version. Weaker versions feature around 140 horsepower, while more powerful variants deliver around 160 horsepower. In terms of transmission, you have a choice of either 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic gearbox.
2020 Renault Kadjar Release Date and Price
Considering that the 2020 Renault Kadjar is about to come without more important changes, we expect to see its launch in typical time. In this case, that would mean sometime late in the year. When it comes to the price, it should also remain pretty much the same. It depends on the market, but in most cases starts at around 22/23.000 dollars.
2020 Renault Kadjar Competition
The 2020 Renault Kadjar will compete in a pretty crowded segment. There are several potential rivals, including the corporate sibling Nissan Qashqai. Other than Qashqai, there are several other rivals around. Peugeot 3008 comes first to mind. It delivers plenty of refinement, as well as a spacious cabin and high overall level of comfort. Those who prefer better driving dynamics and more attractive look could go for Mazda CX-5, which definitely isn’t the most spacious model in the class, but offers an amazing driving experience.
Of course, there are also competitors from the VW Group, such as Seat Ateca and Skoda Karoq. Finally, there is Hyundai Tucson, as a cheaper alternative, which offers a great balance between the price and quality. All in all, the competition is tough but Renault has a pretty big fan core, so we have no doubt that the 2020 Renault Kadjar will mark some pretty respectable sales numbers.
