Big changes are coming from Buick for the next year, as the new Envision is on the way. The next generation of this compact crossover is about to bring a plethora of novelties and the new design will certainly improve its position on the market. As you may presume, the new 2021 Buick Envision will practically be the same vehicle as the Chinese-market Envision S, which debuted recently. It brings various kinds of improvements compared to the outgoing model.
Compared to the outgoing model, the new 2021 Buick Envision will feature a far more appealing exterior, as well as significant improvements on the inside, including both new aesthetics and finer materials. 2021 Buick Envision Redesign

Interior
At this point, details about the interior design are a complete mystery. Still, we presume that the cabin won’t be much different compared to the Chinese version. This means you may count on a cab design that features pretty high overall quality, a cabin that combines very fine materials with beautiful aesthetics. Also, you may count on loads of latest tech goodies, including the new infotainment system. Base models will probably come with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, while higher trim levels will probably come equipped with a larger 10-inch unit.
Besides the new look, we will also see slight improvements in terms of interior space. The new model will be slightly shorter in terms of the overall length, but the wheelbase will be increased by 1.1 inches. For that reason, we will see a little bit more legroom. The new model will be slightly wider as well, so passengers on the rear bench will also get a little bit more shoulder room. The cargo area will also get a couple more cubic feet, though we are still waiting for the details.
2021 Buick Envision Engine
Things under the hood probably won’t change too much compared to the outgoing model. Most likely, a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder unit will remain reserved for the base versions. On the other side, a 2.0-liter turbo-four will power higher trim levels, though we will probably see a new version of the engine. Compared to the current unit, the new one features 237 horsepower. The old one is good for more than 250 horses, but the company claims fuel economy has been notably improved.
In any case, both engines will come in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which will send power to either front or all wheels.
2021 Buick Envision Release Date and Price
We expect to see 2021 Buick Envision sometime in the last quarter of the year. When it comes to the price, the latest reports suggest no bigger increase compared to the current model. Therefore, base versions will probably go around 34/35.000 dollars. We expect that the new Envision will compete with models like Infiniti QX50, Lincoln Corsair, Lexus NX, Land Rover Discovery Sport etc.
Older-Generation Envision May Stay In Production Too
Despite the launch of the new 2021 Buick Envision, there is a possibility that the current generation will remain in production for some more time. That already happened in China, where the old model is produced alongside the new one. The same thing could happen in North America. Simply, the current generation has been updated last year and still has some things to show. It may not be the most stylish model in the class, but it offers a long list of standard equipment, an intuitive infotainment system, a good fuel economy etc. All those goodies come at a pretty attractive price, as we are talking about one of the most affordable compact luxury crossovers on the market.
