2019 Audi Q4 USA Release Date and Price

2019 Audi Q4 review

After BMW and Mercedes-Benz, Audi is another German carmaker that is about to enter the segment of coupe-like crossovers. Although the segment’s pioneer, the BMW X6, came a long time ago, this class actually became hugely popular in the past few years. Even-numbered models from Bavaria, new Coupe badged Mercedes models and few other crossovers are becoming more and more popular these days. Audi definitely doesn’t want to give its piece of cake, so there are a plethora of new models to come. The first one will be 2019 Audi Q4, a small crossover that will take an inspiration from the relatively recent Audi TT Offroad concept. Of course, we are talking about styling. Rest of the vehicle should be in a close relationship with odd-numbered models, primarily Q3 and Q5 models.

2019 Audi Q4 Redesign

When it comes to base design characteristics, the new 2019 Audi Q4 will come heavily based on the Q3 model. In practice, this would mean riding on the same MQB platform, which underprints pretty much everything from the VW Group, when it comes to compact cars. In this particular case, we expect to see pretty much identical chassis setup, as well as the same wheelbase. On the other side, the shape will be significantly different, with a sloping roof design and layout that provides that attractive, upscale coupe-like look.

This would mean a lot of inspiration from the TT Offroad concept. This model had its premiere in 2014 and, as you can see, we’ve been waiting for full four years to see something from it. This concept came with the styling that takes a lot of inspiration from the famous sports car. This refers to both exterior and interior design. However, the production model will be a little bit different. This version might use a similar overall shape, but the design language will definitely be the same as on the new Q3.

2019 Audi Q4 Styling

When it comes to the styling, expect to see the same approach as on the Q3 crossover. At least when it comes to the front end. This model has been unveiled a couple of months ago, so we can say it definitely features the brand’s latest design language. The face of these two models should be pretty much identical. This means a new headlights shape, new bumper with massive air intakes and even bigger angular grille with a pattern that continues through the bumper. On the other side, expect to see a significantly different profile. The new model will feature a coupe-like shape, with a sloping roof layout. While the rear end of Q3 looks pretty common, the 2019 Audi Q4 will probably feature a layout that closely resembles the brand’s famous Sportback design.

2019 Audi Q4 Interior

You probably don’t remember that the TT Offroad concept featured pretty much the same interior layout as the popular sports car. This time, we will see something less distinctive. The 2019 Audi Q4 interior will look largely the same as in the new Q3 model. Of course, we are talking about the dashboard design. It comes with lots of horizontal lines and a very upscale feel. You will notice that the touchscreen is positioned pretty low. It sits below central air vents, which isn’s such common design solution these days when notebook-like screens dominate.

Also, you can count on Audi’s new Virtual Cockpit. It includes a large 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, full of additional information. On the other side, the rear part of the cabin will be a little bit different. Due to the sloping roof, you can count on less headroom, as well as on less cargo space, compared to the Q3 model. Speaking of the practicality, another drawback could be visibility, since the rear windows will definitely be smaller.

2019 Audi Q4 Engines

A familiar VW palette of engines is something we expect to see from the new model. Most likely, the 2019 Audi Q4 USA will be the first one to come. So the focus should be on gasoline engines. Of course, we expect to see a familiar 2.0-liter TFSI engine. In its the latest version, it delivers impressive 310 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. In Europe and a few more parts of the world, a famous TDI unit should find its place under the hood as well. For this occasion, we expect to see a version with 180 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.

2019 Audi Q4 Hybrid

As you may remember, the TT Offroad concept was equipped with an advanced hybrid powertrain. It features a max output of 408 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Most likely, the production version will come with some detunings. We expect to see a plug-in hybrid version. It will probably feature somewhere around 300 horses and also offer a decent all-electric range.

2019 Audi Q4 Release Date and Price

The 2019 Audi Q4 is about to come pretty soon, probably already in the next year. While we are waiting for the official confirmation, we can make predictions about its price, which should probably go around 35.000 dollars for the base model.
