Production cycles are becoming shorter and shorter. So, it’s not surprising that this crossover is about to receive a mid-cycle refresh only three years after the initial release. To remind you, this was one of the brand’s first models that adopted the new naming policy. It arrived in 2016 and it represents this company in the segment of compact luxury crossovers. The 2020 Cadillac XT5 is about to come with a fine number of novelties. It will receive a mid-cycle update.
The testing model has been spotted and it looks like we are about to see several interesting changes. Of course, the focus will be on aesthetics but count on a couple of mechanical changes as well. Also, some reports suggest a hi-performance version of this crossover, though this currently seems unlikely. In any case, the 2020 Cadillac XT5 will hit the market earlier than usual, probably in the third quarter of the year.

2020 Cadillac XT5 Redesign
In terms of base design characteristics, the 2020 Cadillac XT5 will continue in the same way. As we already mentioned, this model was launched in 2016 and it seems pretty fresh for some bigger mechanical modifications. The chassis setup will remain unchanged, though a new 9-speed automatic transmission is expected. Also, a possible hi-performance version, with a V-Sport badge, would probably bring lots of modifications. Of course, this version would be tuned for some sportier performances, which in practice means new suspension setup, brakes, and some chassis reinforcement. All in all, a fine number of changes.

2020 Cadillac XT5 Styling
Of course, the central point of this update will be visual appearance. Just like any other facelift, this one will also bring lots of new aesthetical solutions. The testing model has been spotted. Unfortunately, it still wears a camouflage, so we can’t say anything more precise. However, a camouflage clearly shows which areas of the vehicle will be modified. Of course, the focus is on the front end, so count on a new front fascia, as well as on revised bumper with new air intakes and fog lights. Some reports also suggest subtle changes on headlights.
All these changes will be inspired by newer XT4 and CT6 models and their design language. The other end of the crossover will also receive a couple of revisions, mostly on the rear bumper, and a smaller portion in the lower tailgate area. Rest of the vehicle will probably remain the same but count on new wheels and color options.

2020 Cadillac XT5 Interior
The interior of the 2020 Cadillac XT5 probably won’t change too much. We expect to see the same overall layout, which looks pretty impressive. The dashboard features relatively minimalistic design, full of hi-quality materials. Most surfaces are soft-on touch and there is also a fine amount of wood accents. Besides excellent materials quality, this crossover also offers pretty roomy and comfortable cabin. Both rows feature plenty of legroom, while seats are pretty massive and very supportive. A great thing is that rear seats also slide and recline.
When it comes to the cargo space, you can count on class-average numbers. This means around 30 cubic feet behind rear seats and 63 cubic feet of total cargo capacity. Also, it is important to mention that rear seats fold flat.

Features
Despite being a small crossover, this is still a Cadillac. Therefore, there is no doubt that the 2020 Cadillac XT5 will come with a long list of standard equipment. The current model is already amazing, but the next year will probably bring some expansions. Currently, base models come with standard features like power-adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Wi-Fi hotspot, 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, voice control, HD radio, Bose audio system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and much more.
2020 Cadillac XT5 Engines
Currently, there is just one engine in the offer for this crossover. It is a familiar 3.6-liter V6, which delivers around 310 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. It comes coupled with 8-speed automatic transmission, though a new 9-speed gearbox is expected for the next year. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is also available. Fuel economy is decent as well. You can count on 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Such amount of power provides a pretty smooth and comfortable ride but don’t count on some spectacular driving dynamics. Therefore, many reports suggest an optional turbo engine that would be reserved for a hi-performance V-Sport model. We count on a Cadillac’s familiar 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 unit, which delivers around 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.

2020 Cadillac XT5 Release Date and Price
The will come with lots of changes, so count on an earlier arrival. Most likely, that will be sometime in the third quarter of the year. The price should remain the same, which means that base models should go around 42.000 dollars.
