The upcoming 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe GT5 will borrow the engine from Urus. Well, Lambo is using Porsche’s drivetrain for its only SUV. Huge Load of Power

The trademark claim of the GT5 badge makes all fans wondering what is Porsche up to. Definitely, a kind of beast is on the way. All stakes are on the 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe GT5. The new SUV is going to use the same 4.0-liter V8 engine the standard model is using. However, the boost is expected, and it will bring over 100 horsepower to the GT5 edition. Currently, the most powerful Cayenne is capable to produce 541 horsepower. The new system will push outputs to 650 hp. That means the Porsche is taking the engine from the Lamborghini Urus, the one that they developed and produced. Now, it is time to use it for their own vehicle.

It is not going to be the most powerful drivetrain in the SUV category, with Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk edition delivering 707 hp. Also, the new Mercedes Benz GLS AMG 63 will top these numbers. What’s more, the 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe GT5 is not at the peak within the family. The E-Hybrid version of the SUV bursts 680 horsepower.

Porsche Claimed “GT5” Badge

It’s been a year since the German carmaker protected the GT5 trademark. The name is registered in the database of the US PTO. That happened soon after the carmaker brought an all-new Cayenne Coupe SUV. So, the relation between these two events was established pretty quickly and fans are already making predictions about the new vehicle. Well, the GT stands for the high-output cars, that is for sure.

When you take that and already very powerful SUV, there is only one way – borrowing the more powerful engine from Lambo Urus. This is not going to be the first time the German carmaker is doing so. But, this time, the thing is much bigger and you can’t mess up with 650 horsepower. Further rumors are reporting that the upcoming SUV will be track-oriented and no massive production will be available for buyers.
