Boxer engine by Subaru looks like a far-fetched fairy tale. In our humble opinion, this is not happening.
2020 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado
While we can compare the 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser with the Lexus LX, the Prado version is a Lexus GX non-US sport utility vehicle. It is a mid-size SUV that has nothing much in common with the US version of the LC (besides the name). The new 2020 Land Cruiser Prado was spied under a heavy camo and it could come out sooner than its namesake. Most markets will offer it with a diesel engine. However, Toyota is also installing petrol units under the hood of the LC Prado. So, we have a 2.7, 3.5, and a 4.0-liter mill producing power for this SUV. Toyota Tundra truck is using the largest displacement and it is capable to deliver 240 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque.
LC 70 Series
In Australia, Land Cruiser 70 series are quite popular. Back in 80’s Toyota split the Land Cruiser lineup into luxury and utility division. The following one is not available in the US. But, in Australia, it appears as the truck (LC79), a wagon (LC76), and a troopie (LC78). The ute can tow up to 7,700 pounds thanks to its turbodiesel 4.5 engine. These vehicles are able to work or transport people in the toughest conditions. However, their engines can’t meet regulations in the United States. Although fans love their retro look, Series 70 of Land Cruiser would have problems to adapt to the new market and versatile competition.

The model for the 2019 season is here without big changes. The Japanese carmaker can’t go to the next one without a big overhaul. Land Cruiser is already losing and sales are showing declining factors.
