Lexus has filed for the new nameplate. The accreditation agency will soon make a decision on the new LX600 model. This hints many things about the largest vehicle in the lineup, but it is not coming out next season. Fans will have to wait a bit, and the 2021 Lexus LX 570 could have one more run.
The first certain thing about the new LX 570 is that is not going to suffer any big changes. Well, when the LX600 gets a green light, the company will turn it to the new full-size model. This is going to happen somewhere between 2022 and 2024, so there are no reasons to update the outgoing SUV.
Unchanged, the 2021 Lexus LX 570 is coming with the huge V8 under the hood and two available trim levels. The equipment is the same and buyers will choose two- or the three-row version. So, this is pretty much the same as for the Land Cruiser, which offers only one trim.
2021 Lexus LX 570 Specs
A 5.7-liter V8 engine powers the 2021 Lexus LX 570. This is the most powerful unit Toyota has to offer to the large SUV. In the future, the new nameplate indicates changes under the bonnet. Until that happens, the thirsty mill will consume 16 mpg combined. It makes up the poor fuel economy with exceptional off-road skills. Toyota Land Cruiser is on par with the LX, and no other big rig. With 380 hp and 400 lb-ft, the engine is not among the most powerful, but it is definitely one of the most reliable. An eight-speed gearbox transfers power to all wheels.
As you can notice, the 2021 Lexus LX 570 name derives from the engine displacement. So it is with GX 460, RX 350, etc. So, the new LX 600 definitely means something. The analogy says – a 6.0-liter engine would power the SUV. But, this is somehow hard to imagine. While most other rivals are trying to downsize the powerplant and improve fuel economy, Toyota would take a counter-attack.
The other theory says the name shows a total output of the engine. We expect a boost, but 220 ponies more than for the current edition is not so likely to happen. Even if the carmaker develops a twin-turbo drivetrain, 600 horsepower is still too much for this class. We will have to be patient for a bit more to find out the details about the LX plans.
Two Trim Levels of the 2021 Lexus LX 570
The new 2021 Lexus LX 570 is not going to change its look. The SUV offers plenty of features, which is expected from an $87,000 rig. Here is what you will find in the vehicle. We already mentioned that all models are using an all-wheel drive. It improves the off-road capability and makes the LX different from other models in the class. Leather upholstery and quad-zone climate control are also standard.
The company also thinks of the safety and makes blind-spot monitoring and a few other advanced features available however you build the SUV. Of course, the infotainment system is packed with many advanced features. The highlight is a 12.3-inch infotainment display. Lexus is going to offer both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
If you think to pay $87,000 and get all you can imagine, you are wrong. The carmaker offers optional packages for its most luxurious model. The fresh addition is Sport suite with a new grille and spoilers. Chrome details and black headliners are also part of the package. The Luxury bundle comes with heated front and rear seats, while the first row also gets the ventilating function. Color HUD is also available for $900. Customize the steering wheel with heating and the special leather. Mark Levinson premium audio system includes surround sound from 19 speakers. Rear-seat infotainment comes with screens in headrests. A thing that disappointed us the most is an additional charge for the wireless charger. This might become standard for 2021 YM.
Dimensions and Cargo Capacity
The 2021 Lexus LX 570 will keep the dimensions of the outgoing model. That means we will see the SUV 197-inch long. It is still the full-size model, although below 200 inches. There are 112 inches between the front and rear wheels. The interior can take up to 81 cubic feet, which is among the lowest offer in the segment. Behind the third row, you have 16 cu.ft. The two-row version offers 54 cubic feet and the three-row version 41 cubic feet behind the middle bench.
2021 Lexus LX 570 Price
The base version of the 2021 Lexus LX 570 costs over $87,000 with the destination. Add a third row and the price jumps to $92,000. Fully-loaded LX gets into a six-digit price waters.
