After one more year of waiting, the current generation of Chevy’s compact crossover was finally updated for the 2022 model year. This refresh has brought a couple of pretty interesting novelties, which are a clear indicator that the current generation is about to remain in production for some more time. This also indicates that the 2023 Chevy Equinox will probably come without more important changes.
So, you may count on a crossover that still has a lot of good things to offer. We like its spacious cabin and comfortable ride, while the predicted reliability rating is among the highest in the class. Furthermore, Equinox features a very user-friendly infotainment system. When it comes to things we don’t like, the subpar interior quality is definitely the first thing that comes to mind, along with the underpowered powertrain.
Considering that there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2023 Chevy Equinox will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the next year.

2023 Chevy Equinox Design
Design-wise, the 2023 Chevy Equinox won’t bring any particular changes. Simply, the 2022 update has brought a lot of novelties, so there is no doubt that the next year’s model will continue in the same way. To remind you, the recent update has brought a completely new face, with the new grille, headlights and lower fascia. The rear end came with a couple of novelties, such as new taillights and rear bumpers. Considering all this, it is hard to expect anything more important from the 2023 Chevy Equinox.
On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle hasn’t changed too much since the initial launch in 2016. That’s not a bad thing at all, considering that this SUV offers a well-balanced ride quality, which is mostly about comfort but which doesn’t sacrifice athletic handling entirely.
Interior
This is probably the weakest aspect of the SUV. Simply, the cabin looks less attractive compared to the cabins of rivals. The dashboard looks good but it lacks refinement and quality. The materials are mostly plastics, while the build quality isn’t all that great either. Also, the sound insulation could be better.

On the other hand, things aren’t that bad when it comes to passenger space. Moreover, this model features one of the longest wheelbases in the segment, so it’s no wonder that both rows accommodate adults with ease. The front seats are comfortable, though they would use more side support. The driving position, as well as the visibility, is good.
Things aren’t that impressive behind the seats. Despite the respectable dimensions, this SUV offers less than 30 cubic feet behind the second row, while the total cargo volume goes around 64 cubic feet. That’s below-average for the segment and way less than you get from models like Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester etc.
Features
This aspect shouldn’t bring any notable changes. Most of the things should remain the same as in the current model, which means a relatively decent list of standard equipment. For reference, the current model comes standard with keyless entry, push-button start, a 7-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, four USB ports, HD Radio, satellite radio, and a six-speaker stereo. Additionally, you can get upgrades like dual-zone climate control, remote start, panoramic sunroof, an 8-inch touch screen, navigation, a seven-speaker stereo, wireless device charging, and two additional USB ports.
When it comes to safety, all models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic high beams etc. Also, there are upgrades like adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, surround-view camera, parking sensors, handsfree park assist etc.
2023 Chevy Equinox Engines
Unfortunately, the optional 2.0-liter turbo-four with 250 horsepower is no longer available. So, the 2023 Chevy Equinox will come with just one engine on the offer. That is a 1.5-liter turbo-four, which puts out 170 horsepower. That feels underpowered for the segment, especially on the highway. On the other hand, the engine works well as a daily commuter, especially if we consider pretty good fuel economy. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which generally does a fine job but can hesitate with downshifts sometimes.
Speaking of the fuel economy, you may count on about 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, which is pretty good for the segment.

2023 Chevy Equinox Release Date and Price
Considering that no changes are expected for the next year, we believe that the 2023 Chevy Equinox will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2022, with a starting price of around 26.000 dollars.
