2023 Chevy Suburban

The current generation of Chevy’s legendary SUV was introduced for the 2021 model and therefore, there’s no doubt that we won’t be seeing bigger changes in the next few years. Most likely, the 2023 Chevy Suburban will carry on without bigger changes, with familiar design and features. However, we can hear rumors that talk about the possibility of an off-road version, which would come with the well-known ZR2 badge. Currently, the Suburban is available only as a mild off-roader, with the Z71 badge.

Other than the possible addition of the ZR2 model, things are about to remain the same. We will see a familiar layout, which has so many great things to offer. we particularly like the Suburban’s cavernous interior, which offers impressive passenger and cargo space. Furthermore, there is a long list of standard and available features, while the powertrain lineup includes three options.

Considering that bigger changes probably won’t happen, we expect that the 2023 Chevy Suburban will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2023 Chevy Suburban Design

Design-wise, things are about to remain the same. We are about to see a familiar layout, based on the T1 platform, with most things in common with the Silverado pickup. Of course, the Suburban comes with much more refinement, and that’s easiest to see in terms of the suspension setup. This SUV comes standard with independent rear suspension, which has a big impact on comfort and ride quality in general.

Visually, we don’t expect any bigger change, though it’s always possible to see things like new color options. On the other hand, we can hear rumors about the ZR2 version. This would be an off-road version of the SUV, which would include various upgrades. The list of off-road hardware would include things like standard four-wheel drive, two-speed transfer case, locking differentials, upgraded suspension, all-terrain tires, skid plates, tow hooks etc.

Interior

Changes on the inside are not expected. The 2023 Chevy Suburban is about to carry on with a familiar cabin design, which has a lot of great things to offer, starting from a much better interior quality compared to the previous generation. This particularly refers to the build quality, while materials are also notably finer than before. Also, we like the ergonomics very much.

Still, the Suburban’s biggest strength will once again be the generous amount of interior space. This SUV comes standard with three rows of seats and each row accommodates adults with ease. Furthermore, the front seats are massive and supportive, while the second-row captain’s chairs are available too.

The same thing is with cargo space, which offers 41.5 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats, 93.8 cubic feet with these seats folded, and 144.7 cubic feet of the total cargo volume. We are talking about class-leading numbers.

Features

Novelties in this aspect are always possible but we expect that most of the things are about to remain the same. Therefore, all models should come standard with things like a 10.2-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, eight USB ports, HD Radio, satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, and a Wi-Fi hot spot, keyless entry, remote key start, tri-zone climate control etc. The current list of optional features includes a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, navigation, nine- and 10-speaker stereos, a rear-seat entertainment system with two 12.6-inch touch screens, a panoramic sunroof etc.

The same thing is with safety features. Base models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, parking sensors, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic high beams etc. The list of options should include things like adaptive cruise control, head-up display, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, surround-view camera etc.

2023 Chevy Suburban Engines

While novelties in other aspects are always possible, the powertrain lineup will certainly remain unchanged. Therefore, the offer will start with a 5.3-liter V8, which puts out around 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Of course, you may also count on the well-known 6.2-liter V8, which puts out around 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Finally, there is a turbodiesel version, equipped with a 3.0-liter inline-six, which puts out around 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. All engines come with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The diesel version is also characterized by pretty impressive fuel economy, which goes around 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. On the other hand, gasoline versions return around 15 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.
