Chevy’s super-practical SUV has just been refreshed. The 2022 model received a so-much-needed facelift and it’s now ready to compete with rivals much better. We saw novelties in various aspects, starting from the new styling, with looks more aggressive and more appealing. Also, there are more features, whether it’s about technology, safety or convenience. All these things made the Traverse a more desirable package. Considering all this, it’s easy to presume that the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse will come without more important updates.
We are about to see a familiar design, which has a lot of great things to offer. Besides the cavernous cabin, this SUV offers a smooth and comfortable ride, along with a pretty capable V6 engine. Furthermore, the list of standard and available equipment is pretty long, while a large number of trim levels and packages allow all kinds of customization. On the other hand, the biggest complaint goes to the interior quality, which is at a lower level when compared to key rivals.
Since there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2023 Chevrolet Traverse Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse will most likely be a typical carryover model. Simply, the recent facelift has brought a lot of novelties and we believe the current generation will remain in production for some more time. The recent update brought mostly aesthetical changes, with the new styling that includes sharper edges, narrower headlights, massive air intakes, new LED taillights etc.
On the other hand, the mechanical aspect remained the same. This is a pretty large crossover, so it’s no wonder it doesn’t offer some spectacular level of athleticism. On the other hand, the ride is smooth and comfortable, perfect for long journeys.
Interior
The verdict of the interior largely depends of your perspective. If you’re looking for a fancy-looking cabin, you will end up disappointed, as the Traverse doesn’t impress in this aspect. It comes with a relatively cheap-looking dashboard design, which utilizes mostly hard plastics and other low-rent materials.

On the other hand, if hauling is your main concern, you will be impressed. This is one of the largest models in the class, with three spacious and comfortable rows of seats. All seats accommodate adults pretty easily, even the ones in the third row. The front seats are massive and supportive, while we like the ergonomics very much. Even the visibility is decent if we consider the model’s size.
The cargo area offers around 23 cubic feet behind the third-row seats, 57.8 cubic feet of space behind the second row and 98.2 cubic feet of the total volume. Those are some of the highest ratings in the class.
Features
We don’t expect to see bigger changes in this aspect though minor tweaks are always possible. The current model already comes with lots of features, such as tri-zone climate control, keyless entry, remote start, a 7-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite radio, and a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, six USB ports, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. Additionally, you can get optional features like a panoramic sunroof, a 120V power outlet, an 8-inch touch screen, navigation, wireless device charging, and a 10-speaker stereo.
When it comes to safety, base models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic high beams, rear-seat alert etc. Additionally, you can opt for goodies like adaptive cruise control, safety alert seats, rearview mirror, surround-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors etc.
2023 Chevrolet Traverse Engine
Things under the hood definitely won’t change. The 2023 Chevrolet Traverse will continue with the same 3.6-liter V6 that puts out 310 horsepower. Driving dynamics are pretty good and the engine moves this large crossover with ease. It comes in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which also does a pretty good job.
Besides good driving dynamics, you may also count on pretty decent fuel economy. Base FWD models return around 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, which is quite typical for the class. Of course, models with all-wheel drive are slightly thirstier and return around 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.

2023 Chevrolet Traverse Release Date and Price
We expect to see the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 34.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Honda Pilot, VW Atlas, Nissan Pathfinder etc.
