Nissan engineers have been pretty busy with renewing the company’s SUV lineup in the last few years. The Rogue has been redesigned, the Rogue Sport has been redesigned and the Pathfinder has just been redesigned. So, now it’s time for Murano. According to the latest reports, the all-new model will be set for launch in 2022 and it will hit the market as the 2023 Nissan Murano. The details are still unavailable, but we count on all kinds of novelties.
Just like in the case of the new Pathfinder, the platform will be updated, while the aesthetics will be completely new. We also count on significant improvements on the inside. The engine will probably remain the same but we count on a new transmission, which will significantly improve the driving experience.
We expect to see the all-new 2023 Nissan Murano sometime next summer.

2023 Nissan Murano Redesign
The 2023 Nissan Murano will bring a lot of novelties but from what can we see so far, the platform won’t change. Just like the new Pathfinder, the new Murano will also continue to ride on a well-known D platform. However, this architecture will be significantly updated. You may count on a stiffer chassis, new suspension and several more upgrades, which will improve the ride quality.
Still, we don’t expect that the 2023 Nissan Murano could change its character significantly. The ride will be mostly about comfort. However, we hope that steering will be improved, considering that the current model doesn’t impress in this aspect at all.
Exterior
When it comes to the exterior design, the overall layout will remain the same. The 2023 Nissan Murano will continue as a two-row mid-size SUV. As we already mentioned, it will continue to ride on the D platform and, most likely, the wheelbase will also remain the same. It goes around 111.2 inches. On the other hand, the new model will probably be slightly longer and wider. The latter should have a positive impact on handling.
Of course, the most interesting aspect of the new model will be the styling. We count on completely new aesthetics and there is no doubt that the brand’s latest design language will be adopted. This means a notably bolder appearance, in a similar fashion as the Pathfinder. The Murano has always been characterized by a couple of unique styling details, so the new generation shouldn’t be an exception.

Interior
On the inside, the 2023 Nissan Murano will bring significant improvements regarding quality and style. Once again, we count on a lot of influence from the bigger three-row sibling, especially in terms of the dashboard design. It will utilize clean horizontal lines, while the dash will also be highlighted by a massive touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, massive head-up display etc. Of course, we count on all kinds of new tech features, advanced driver aids etc.
The amount of space will remain the same as in the current model, which isn’t a bad thing at all. The outgoing generation already features one of the most spacious cabins in the segment, characterized by plenty of legroom in both rows. Both rows can accommodate adult passengers with ease.
We also count on similar cargo volumes. For reference, the current model is good for about 32 cubic feet behind the second row and 67 cubic feet in total. That’s a lot but still less compared to rivals like Honda Passport.
2023 Nissan Murano Engines
From what we know so far, the 2023 Nissan Murano will continue with the same 3.5-liter V6, which puts out around 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque. On the other hand, big changes will come in terms of transmission. The current CVT will be replaced with a new 9-speed automatic gearbox, which will have a highly positive effect on the overall driving experience.

The initial version will probably be offered with this V6 engine only. However, we strongly believe that the future could bring an electrified version of Muran. That model could come with a hybrid powertrain, with Nissan’s new ePower technology. Such a powertrain uses a gasoline engine to charge the battery, while the wheels are powered by electric motors.
2023 Nissan Murano Release Date and Price
We expect to see the 2023 Nissan Murano next summer. Base models should go around 33.000 dollars. When it comes to the competition, there are models like Honda Passport, Ford Edge, Hyundai Santa Fe etc.
