The Rogue has been a safe buy for years and the 2019 Nissan Rogue will continue in the same way. Of course, it’s not because of a long list of safety feature, but for the fact that there aren’t many compact crossovers around that offer such a good balance between the price and quality. The current generation has been around for more than four years. However, that doesn’t mean at all that we are talking about something that needs bigger changes at the moment. This crossover already received a mid-cycle update two years ago. Moreover, nice updates were seen last year as well.
Finally, the 2019 Nissan Rogue also gets a couple of interesting novelties, mainly in terms of new standard equipment. On the other side, base design characteristics remain unchanged, both in terms of mechanics and aesthetics.
2019 Nissan Rogue Redesign
The 2019 Nissan Rogue continues with its familiar design. It rides on Nissan’s familiar CMF platform, sharing many design solutions with models like Nissan Qashqai, Renault Koleos etc. Practically, this model remained the same since the launch of the current generation, which happened almost five years ago. The overall shape and proportions are completely the same. It comes with a pretty common crossover shape, while 106.5 inches in wheelbase offer pretty generous cabin in terms of space. In terms of aesthetics, we saw a facelift two years ago. For that occasion, the Rogue received new headlights and taillights, along with a few more tweaks on the front end. Still, the overall look seems pretty similar.
2019 Nissan Rogue Interior
The inside of the 2019 Nissan Rogue is once again the strongest point of this model. Compared to the most rivals, it offers more space on the inside. Like a common compact SUV, this model seats for five. Therefore, you can count on a lot of legroom in both rows. Front seats are particularly comfortable and definitely leave an impression of a great quality. Same goes with the dashboard, which looks stylings and features lots of soft-touch surfaces. Besides plenty of style, you can also count on plenty of tech features. Practicality is on a high level as well, especially in terms of cargo space. This area features 70 cubic feet of overall cargo space, which is among best results in the class.
Safety
Another aspect where 2019 Nissan Rogue stands pretty strong. Great crash-test results in a combination with lots of advanced systems make this crossover one of the safest in the class. With the latest updates, you can count on things like pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, intelligent lane intervention, high-beam assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, already in base trim levels. If you choose some upscale version, you can also get things like 360-degree camera, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic braking and much more.
Trim Levels
A familiar organization of three trim levels for the 2019 Nissan Rogue remains. There are three versions in the offer – S, SV, and SL.
The base S model comes with a list of standard equipment that includes a 7-inch touchscreen, smartphone integration, Bluetooth, USB, 4-speaker audio system, steel wheels etc. Alloy wheels come with the SV trim, as well as heated seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable seats, 6-speaker audio system and much more.
If you decide for a top-range SL model, the list expanses with standard features like leather upholstery, automatic high beams, fog lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, driver memory settings, navigation, Bose audio system etc.
2019 Nissan Rogue Engines
We came to the probably weakest point of this crossover. There is only one gasoline engine in the offer for this crossover. It’s not bad but definitely won’t satisfy those who want to add a bit of dynamics to their driving. It is a familiar 2.5-liter inline-four engine that delivers around 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. It comes in pair with a CVT gearbox. Such combination makes a lot of noise but on the other side, fuel economy is above average for the class. It goes around 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.
If you want to get even better numbers in terms of the fuel economy, a hybrid version might be a choice for you. This version uses a system that is built over a 2.0-liter engine and delivers similar output, 176 horsepower. This powertrain is available only in higher SV and SL models. It may not be too funny to drive, but this version returns impressive 33 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.
2019 Nissan Rogue Release Date and Price
The base 2019 Nissan Rogue is already available on most markets, while the hybrid version will hit the market soon. Price remains the same, which means that base models are available at 25.000 dollars. Competition in the segment is pretty tough. Some of the rivals are models like Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, Hyundai Tucson etc.
