Traverse is an eight-seater SUV with new styling and options. The versatile vehicle will now offer a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Well, the SUV is well-known for its various options. One of them is the 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline Edition. A special upgrade is available only if you choose the Premier trim level. It builds up colors and other packages, including unique details and badges.
There are six available trim levels for the new Traverse. However, this is just the beginning of the build. A couple of things you will have to choose right after the model are the engine and drive mode. Now, you can turn to the fine tuning, where the optional features and options are waiting. If you choose the Premier trim level, in the next stages, you will find the Redline edition suite, with unique features for the mid-size SUV. Most of them are exterior, but there are some changes available for the cabin as well. Let’s see the full list of changes the 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline Edition is offering.
Premier Trim Level Equipment
To build the 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline Edition, you need to take the Premier trim level. Before we check additions this model brings, let’s go through the standard equipment. The base SUV is available with dual exhaust tips, 18-inch wheels, HD rearview camera, electronic stability and traction control, LATCH safety package, manual liftgate, heated and power-adjustable outside mirrors, and body-color handles.
Premier trim level will enhance the LT Leather model, which replaces some equipment. There, you get lane departure and change warning, blind-zone alert, special infotainment system, a power liftgate, a seven-seat interior layout, leather seats with heating for the first row. Then, the required model adds perforated leather-appointed buckets. The front row is getting ventilation, while the second row and steering wheel are heated. A wireless charging spot is added. Outside, Traverse Premier is coming with rectangular exhaust tips, LED D-Optic headlights, body-color moldings, and 20- inch wheels.
2020 Chevy Traverse Redline Edition Features
Now we are ready to add the 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline package to our mid-size SUV. This suite enhances the appearance and makes the vehicle more aggressive. 20-inch wheels are painted in black. Of course, red accents are something that makes them so unique. Gloss black is the color of window surround, while rear lamps are darkened. Most parts are now black, including door handles, mirror caps, wheel openings, bezels for the fog lamps, or the famous bow-tie logo. Badges are also black, but with red outlines. Another unique upgrade for the 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline Edition is the Dual Skyscape power moonroof. The Driver Confidence II package comes along with Redline.
2020 Chevy Traverse Redline Edition Colors
Not all colors are available with the 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline Edition. Buyers can pick one out of four combinations. There are two metallic paintjobs: Silver Ice and Mosaic Black. The company also offers a tri-coat Iridescent Pearl scheme or Summit White color.
A few other packages are compatible with the Redline model. You can pick up ‘Hit the road’ suite, Interior Enhancement or Protection, Floor Liners, Cargo, or Roadside Safety sets of features additionally over the Redline.
Specs
Under the hood of all Traverse models is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 310 horsepower. The engine is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission that boosts the overall fuel economy. Until this year, we could find the SUV with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine for the RS model. However, this one is discontinued. There are some rumors about the Traverse Hybrid, but this is not official yet. Still, GM needs such a source of power to stay competitive in the market. Ford Explorer PHEV is the highlight of the 2020 season. Its model doesn’t offer the base hybrid yet. Buyers of the 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline Edition can also choose either a two- or four-wheel drive system. Better control and traction will cost around $2,300.
2020 Chevy Traverse Redline Edition Price
Equipped with all the required equipment, you will have to spend at least $48,000, plus destination charges. Premium color, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, adds $1k. With all the abovementioned packages, the price of the 2020 Chevy Traverse Redline Edition will reach $55,000. That is where the High Country models start, without upgrades. The base L model, with standard features, is priced just under $31,000. The LT might be the best version with the mid-range equipment and price. However, the difference between the Cloth and Leather editions is $4k.
Competition
Traverse is still competitive in the mid-size three-row class. However, the lack of a hybrid drivetrain is a huge downside. Toyota Highlander is already old in these waters, while the latest addition is Ford Explorer PHEV. We can also see spy photos of Honda Pilot with a plug-in system, while premium models are using such technology for a long time. GM is losing the pace to the competition, and changes could refresh the engine room already in 2021.
