2020 Nissan Murano Review

While most mid-size crossovers now come with three rows of seating, the Murano sticks to the old-school manner and comes with only two. Despite that fact, it is still one of the popular models in the class. The original model came almost 17 years ago. For all these years, we have seen three generations of it. The current one has been on the market since 2014. Considering the age, a mid-cycle refresh was pretty much expected. Eventually, it happened recently. We saw a lot of interesting novelties with the 2019-year model, so there is no doubt that the 2020 Nissan Murano will come without more important changes.

Moreover, the current version should carry on without bigger modification until a redesign, which should happen in about two or three years. The next year is about to bring us a familiar design and the bigger changes we could see are new color options, more standard equipment, and similar things.

2020 Nissan Murano Redesign

As we already mentioned, the 2020 Nissan Murano should carry on without bigger changes. The recent update has brought a lot of novelties and we don’t expect to see anything more important until a redesign. If you’re not familiar with the recent update, the facelifted model was presented a couple of months ago. As you may presume, the focus was on visual updates. The new model gets a lot of interesting novelties in terms of aesthetics. Of course, most of them are at the front. There is a new grille, which keeps the familiar V-Motion shape but comes with slight modifications and continues to spread over the hood. Also, the front bumper received a couple of changes. You can notice a slight reshaping, as well as new fog lights and air intakes. The rear end also comes with a couple of modifications. Finally, there are new wheels in the offer.

Given all the recent changes, there is no doubt that the 2020 Nissan Murano will continue in the same way. In the best case, we could see a few more colors in the offer.

2020 Nissan Murano Interior

The recent update didn’t bring too many changes on the inside. The reason is simple. This crossover features one of the best-looking cabins in the class. Once you step in this crossover, you will instantly notice its hi-end cabin, full of soft-touch, hi-grade materials. Besides lots of quality and plenty of styles, the cabin is also pretty spacious. There is plenty of head and legroom, while seats are massive and supportive. The overall cargo capacity goes around 67 cubic feet, and the good thing is that rear seats fold flat.

In terms of tech features, we didn’t see too many changes in the recent update. A familiar infotainment system carried on with familiar highlights such as an 8-inch touchscreen, navigations, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay etc. The base trim level organization will definitely remain the same. Count on four familiar versions in the offer – S, SV, SL, and Platinum. Still, each trim could receive a couple of novelties. Rest of the interior design should remain untouched.

Safety Shield 360

A big novelty came in terms of safety. The recent update has brought a new Safety Shield 360 package, which includes plenty of latest safety systems. Some of the highlights are automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic reverse braking, and high-beam assist, which automatically dims high beams to oncoming traffic. This package is standard in a top-range Platinum model, but also available in lower trim levels. Systems like Forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and a rearview camera are standard across the whole range.

2020 Nissan Murano Engine

Things under the hood will definitely remain unchanged. The 2020 Nissan Murano will rely on a well-known and proven V6 unit that has been powering this crossover for years. It is a familiar 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers around 260 horsepower and comes in pair with CVT and despite it’s not the most potent engine in the class, it provides great performances. It offers strong acceleration and pretty smooth ride. Another great thing about this engine is fuel economy. The Murano returns around 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, which are numbers that most rivals can’t match.

2020 Nissan Murano Release Date and Price

Considering the recent update and the fact that 2020 Nissan Murano definitely won’t bring more important changes, we can expect its arrival in the usual time of a year. That would mean sometime late in the year, probably in December. When it comes to the price, we don’t expect changes either. Base models will go around 31.000 dollars. On the other side, if you decide for a fully-loaded version, the price could go all away up to 44.000 dollars.
