Although it was discontinued in the US, the Trailblazer SUV continued to be produced in some markets. Now, with the return of its original sibling, Blazer, General Motors plans more additions. The 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer could be the preview of the model we can see in the future. At this moment, we don’t know where it could fit. Trax is an entry-level subcompact crossover. Equinox is occupying the spot in the compact segment, Traverse is a mid-size model, while full-size SUVs are Suburban and Tahoe. The new Blazer will be a sporty crossover, so the 2020 Trailblazer could be a three-row mid-size vehicle.
Well, the previous time we saw it, the Trailblazer took the spot in the mid-size class. Back in 2009, it was replaced by Traverse. The 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer will be a slightly larger model with more space inside. Experts believe the SUV is getting the same engines as its stablemate. The base models will use a V6, while GM’s V8s are there to upgrade upper trim levels.
2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer Engines, Specs
The 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer will be the only SUV in the lineup that will offer both V6 and V8 engines. Traverse offers a turbo-four as the main option, while Tahoe and Suburban are coming with V8 units exclusively. So, the base offer for the new 2020 Trailblazer will be a combination of a 3.6-l V6, nine-speed automatic gearbox, and front-wheel drive. Optionally, buyers can pick an all-wheel drive. Towing capacity of this setup is around 5,000 pounds. The Trailblazer will be heavier than the Traverse SUV, so it will return slightly worse gas mileage.
Other option for the 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer will be a 5.3-liter V8 engine. This one produces more serious outputs – 355 hp and 380 pound-feet of twist. A higher towing capacity takes the due from fuel economy. The V8 can tow up to 7,000 pounds. Well, GM is still pairing it with a six-speed transmission. We are sure that Trailblazer will get a V8 in pair with a nine- or ten-speed gearbox.
Diesel
GM is installing a new diesel engine on its big SUVs and trucks. The 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer could get a turbodiesel V6 Duramax powertrain. The output of this unit beats the main rivals – Ford and FCA. A 3.0-liter engine is producing 282 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. With it, Chevy vehicles can tow 10,000. A nine-speed transmission is a favorite to become a power router from a diesel mill to wheels. Still, this engine needs a green light by EPA to get into production. We saw premieres of Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, but the diesel is not in an offer in 2019.
2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer Redesign
After ten years, the 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer won’t be the same vehicle. Of course, a lot of modifications all around the SUV will totally refresh and change the appearance. The new Trailblazer will be a modern rig with a lot of advanced features and equipment. GM will use standard trim levels for this SUV – L, LS, LT, and Premier.
All Chevy crossovers and SUVs are coming with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard features. Besides that, the infotainment system will offer Bluetooth connectivity and USB ports. Traverse is using a seven-inch display and the larger 2020 Trailblazer will probably get a bigger screen. Upper trim levels will add rear-view camera, parking assist, and of course, all-wheel drive. Further optional features are navigation, larger wheels, or leather interior. Power tailgate and premium audio system by Bose are parts of the premium offer.
7-Seat Interior, More Space for Everything
By adding a true three-row mid-size model, Chevy will complete its SUV lineup. This model will compete with the likes of Dodge Journey, Ford Flex, or VW Atlas. An extra row of seats will create two more space for passengers. Still, being longer than Traverse creates extra room for cargo. We still don’t know exact dimensions and capacities but expect the 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer to be larger than Traverse, and smaller than Suburban. That means the length will be between 204 and 224 inches. Wheelbase is going to be between 120 and 130 inches long.
2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer Release Date and Price
The new 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer will arrive next year. For 2019 Chevy plans other additions, so there is no room for the launch of the new SUV. The return to the US is planned for 2020. We also expect news about the diesel engine, so the lineup can be complete.
Again, the price range of the 2020 Chevy Trailblazer we can compare to its closest siblings. Well, these kinds of SUVs start around $33,000 to $35,000 for the base models. Traverse costs $31,000. So, the new Trailblazer could fit into this range nicely. Besides the L trim, we will see slightly upgraded LS version, while more options and features are offered by LT and Premier model. Also, the top of the range version could be High Country with leather upholstery and advanced technology equipment.

Que tenga el espíritu americano, un parecido a tahoe pero con cara de iro man con faros increibles, minimo aro 20, la parte posterior un poquito levantada y con detalles del futuro, etc etc

Tengo una chevrolet trailblazer extendida del 2005 estoy que la mantengo como nueva, hasta mecanico me he vuelto, pues la ultima hazaña fue darle mantenimiento electronico y mecanico.
