According to trusted sources, the smallest and the least capable engine for the 2020 Mercedes – Benz GLB will be a 1.4-liter turbo-four unit. This drivetrain is going to produce 165 hp and 180 lb-ft of twist. Well, this one will be available only for the European market. Other non-US versions will also offer a 1.5-liter turbodiesel drivetrain that creates 115 hp and 190 pound-feet of torque. Under the hood of the North American version of the 2020 Mercedes GLB will be a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine. Buyers of this one can count to 225 hp and 260 pound-feet of torque. It is a more powerful version than the previous one.
That is not all about engine room of the 2020 Mercedes – Benz GLB. The crossover will also get a plug-in hybrid version, while the German company announced an all-electric variant for the future. It is hard to believe that the 2020 season model will present the EQB version.
The GLB also gets a 300 hp rated performance-oriented model. Yes, that is the version with AMG badge. A 2.0-liter turbo engine is paired with a seven-speed transmission. Some say this engine could be tuned to create 400 horsepower. Mercedes is yet to confirm or deny this info.

Interior storage will offer 55 cubic feet. Well, foldable second row creates so much room. Total towing capacity of the new 2020 Mercedes GLB will be around 4,500 pounds.

We still don’t know release details of the new 2020 Mercedes – Benz GLB. We can only assume that fans are not going to wait for too long. Test mules are confirming this theory. On the other hand, we can get some clues about the price if we compare the GLB to its closes siblings. The GLA starts at $34,000 and larger GLC at $40,000. With the new concept and platform, the new GLB will be very close to its bigger stablemate.
Well, the German giant can’t push the price too far to remain competitive in the growing segment. Some of the alternatives we will find in Lexus NX, Acura RDX, and Land Rover Discovery Sport. Of course, its German compatriots are the biggest threat in all markets. BMW’s models for this class are X3 and X4, while Audi’s Q3 is a crossover to watch.
