2021 Audi Q9 Rumors, Release date and Expectations

The full-size segment may not be the most payable these days, but it is still a matter of prestige, especially among luxury carmakers. Simply, this is where carmakers put the best of their technological achievements. If we consider that Mercedes-Benz GLS has been around for many years and that the BMW X7 arrived last year, it’s not hard to make the conclusion that all car enthusiasts are waiting to see what Audi is going to do about that. According to the latest reports, the company from Ingolstadt will take the challenge and launch the 2021 Audi Q9, which will be the largest SUV this company has even made.

At this point, the details are still unavailable. Most of the things we know came from unofficial reports, so make sure to take the following paragraphs with a reserve. In any case, it looks like this model is definitely under development and that it will hit the market sometime in the near future.

2021 Audi Q9 Redesign

Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the size and platform. The whole VW Group doesn’t have a full-size SUV in the offer at the moment, so we presume the company will have to stretch the existing MLB platform. This architecture already underprints loads of mid-size crossovers, including Q7 and Q8 models, as well as with Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne, VW Touareg etc.

Besides the platform, the thing that bothers us is the size. The current Q7 is already a pretty big vehicle. Exterior

When it comes to the styling, we don’t expect bigger surprises. Of course, the overall body will feature a typical wagon layout, similar to the Q7 but even bigger. Of course, higher ground clearance will provide that SUV look, along with more massive bumpers, bigger wheels and similar things. When it comes to the front face, we believe that the new 2021 Audi Q9 would completely follow the brand’s latest design language. Practically, we count on the same combination of grille and headlights we can find on the A8 sedan. On the other side, we count on a little bit different, more massive bumper. The same thing is expected on the other end of the vehicle.

Interior

There is no doubt that the 2021 Audi Q9 will be the most luxurious crossover from Ingolstadt ever. This carmaker has always been known for hi-quality and attractive interiors, but this model could bring everything to the next level. We presume that a lot of inspiration will be taken from the sedan sibling, particularly at the dashboard. The new dash should look even more luxurious compared to the Q8, but we count on familiar tech features, including the excellent digital instrument cluster.

Besides plenty of luxury, this crossover will also offer plenty of interior space. Count on plenty of passenger space in all three rows, while the cargo area should be among the biggest in class as well.

2021 Audi Q9 Engines

While other aspects of the 2021 Audi Q9 may look like a mystery, things under the hood seem pretty much obvious. We have no doubt that the base model will come with the company’s well-known turbo six-cylinder engine, which puts out around 335 horsepower. Of course, a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 will be in the offer as well. This engine comes in two versions. In the SQ9, it would feature a max output of around 500 horsepower. On the other side, the RS Q9 model would feature a max output of 591 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque.

All engines will come in pair with 8-speed automatic transmission. Of course, we count on some form of electrification in the future as well.

Some sources suggest that the 2021 Audi Q9 could arrive already in the next year. However, the company is still quiet about this model, which is currently nothing more but a rumor. If it ever arrives, we presume that the starting price would go around 75.000 dollars.
